I'm no expert and just wondering who are the leading names of successful coaches who you think could make a difference on the national team level? Or is going to MLS for a coach a terrible idea?

How about Oscar Pareja? Hell, give me Miguel Herrera. Yeah, I said it.

It's hard to say. Other than Arena and Pareja, almost all of the successful MLS coaches are in their early 40s and have only had 1-2 jobs.

Two other guys to potentially look at are Peter Vermes and Caleb Porter

Vermes would be at the top for me.

I think Kreis would do well, too.

Pablo Mastroeni's turnaround of Colorado has been impressive. He was terrible at the beginning.

Yeah I was almost ready to call Pablo a disaster but they've really turned it around. Plus, he's a fantastic dresser.

I'd love for him to be the USMNT coach while wearing American made suits and shoes.

Just about anybody would be an upgrade. Needs to be someone players can respect and wont get let the pressure get to them though.

Hard to see anyone being more tactically inept or out of touch with the players talents.

We're not good enough to have a coach taking gambles or essentially just rolling the ball out and having players "express themselves." Any organized, measured approach to the game would instantly be beneficial.

We don't need any MLS coaches, I will take the job for less than half what Klinsmann makes a year

Not kidding that we could take some people off the SB and they would be better than JK.

He has transformed from this:

To this:

I have to hand it to Pablo. Colorado is probably the most disciplined squad in the league. He knew exactly what he had to work with, concentrated on what they could do well, and forged a team identity. He always has a proper plan against an opponent, even a more talented one.

This gave me an unexpected boner.
