LSU has one when the opposing team fouls that is just horrible. "You, you, you, you, you what are you doing? AHHHHH!" The chants were a major negative to the atmosphere.

Yeah, I hated that one even when I was one of those guys getting to a game 2 hours early as a freshman back in 05. I actually think a poster on TD is the guy I first saw doing it. The chant is beyond terrible.

Not trolling. I've been in stadiums with ~500 people in them that have better atmospheres than most American sporting events.

I think I have to disagree there. Every world cup, all you see is people dressed in goofy outfits supporting the different countries. I know I said it before, but I think we are harping on what we see in club soccer too much. Can anyone list some examples of cool things they see from other national team fans.

That's how I feel. I'm a bit tired of hearing it on constant repeat any time I'm enjoying anything remotely related to US Soccer. It's just very bland. It was cool when Bedoya was doing it at Nantes and whatnot, but now that it's our "thing", I'm pretty sick of it.

Let's not have the sports environment pissing contest last time we had someone using the grove as their talking point

Good point. But USMNT is kinda club oriented in a weird way. At least way moreso than England where most fans just laugh at them and watch it for fun.

Another take I would like to hear is SCHs opinion on that as well.

Just about every one here is Club then Country

unless you support some League One team and England is your only way of leaving the country.

The AO's have used some English chants and have done them well. When I was at the Ireland match we did the lets pretend we score a goal or one of those were shite songs and it was hilarious.

But at both the matches I went to you could tell who have been to matches here and and had not. When we started common songs that would work with our national teams some people looked at us like we were crazy bc they were so over the top and something the avg American had no heard

I met some kid from nola who worked for Man City's marketing department and was a West Ham fan.

Sorry man, the face bandanas are freaking cheesy. And the crowds tend to be uber dorks. Again, I'm saying that in my experience.

But I'm also a soccer snob and tend to be really critical of the USMNT so its probably a waste of your time to argue. Mine too.

I saw your post before you took out "and I'm a 'pool fan". You'd think tacky accessories would be right up your alley after the Trapper Keeper kits you lot have had recently.

Also, "Liverpool supporter" and "soccer snob" are about as far from each other on the spectrum as can be. A prerequisite for The Kop is an IQ below 75.

It was in reference to his Everton badge. Nothing to do with anything else other than that.

I'm getting my coat from this argument. Another poster called out neck beards and cut off sleeves as well. I'm not the only one.

And don't give a rats arse what EastNastySwag has to say, he's the definition of the annoying, blindly loyal USA/Jurgy fanboy that I cannot stand.

Low IQ or not, they have standards for their football and I appreciate those standards.

I don't care what they chant or sing. They're having fun at a fricking game that 20 year ago no one -- except a select few -- gave a flying frick about.

Sport chants are by their very nature stupid and cheesy. Goddamn some of you xenophiliacs are embarrassing...all of you really.

Xenophiliac is not a word. In fact, it sounds like a fatal blood disease.

Xenophilia is the love of foreign nations, objects and people.

A xenophiliac is one who has love for foreign nations objects and people.

Similar to that blood disease you mentioned hemophilia and hemophiliacs.

And that statement wasn't directed at you...just the too cool crowd that feel the need to set a baseline of hip for a fricking game.

ETA: I guess xenophile would be more accurate...but philiac just sounds worse.
