Do you like the chants that AO are using? They sounded great on TV last night, but personally, I think most of them are a tad cheesy / lame.

"I believe " just sounds like something a team would say when they are huge underdogs. It's like it should be prefaced by "I know that we suck, but I believe...". I guess it makes sense because it started as a response to Jurgens' rant about how it was impossible for us to win the 2014 WC. It made sense to use it at the time. Now, when we are playing teams we should slaughter, it seems so stupid to chant this. It makes me think of how stupid the "overrated" chant is. Why can't we acknowledge that we have some talent and not have to get everybody on board with "believing" that we will win. We should win these games in the gold cup.

The "we love ya" chant...Seriously, who thought that it would be a good idea to take a 60s pop song about a woman stalking some dude and adapt it to be a chant for our national team. Just sickening.

And I can't complain too much...Like I said, it's great to have chants at all. It seems like it was a very short time ago where we had nothing like this. I'm sure the players appreciate it when they can here their fans.

It was good for the WC but may have run its course

Its been sung in Europe for a long time by a few clubs.

I think they fact they we even have perpetual sound in the stadium is great for the atmosphere. Nothing worse than being able to hear a pin drop while the game is going on.

It wasn't too long ago when it was pretty silent in the stands unless there was a goal-scoring opportunity or something that caused play to stop. Our fans have come a long way.

I do think the chants probably need to be refreshed/recycle periodically. I don't think we should borrow too many EPL/English chants going forward.

I have a few problems with the chants. The thing I hate the most is that the outlaws and mls fans take English chants and can't be original. Make your own damn chants. Not so much a fan of the I believe. Chanting is just not an American thing to do so it just comes off corny and way too forced.

With that being said, the Mexican sombrero I have nothing to wear-o is one of the greatest things I've ever heard.

I like them. The play off Yankee Doodle is pretty sweet. Also liked hearing them sing God bless America last night

How so? Chanting is a soccer thing, it's more sport specific than it is country specific.

That said, you can hear chants of "defense" at any football or basketball game in America

Also smoke and confetti has no place in the U.S. Keep that shite in South America.

The KC crowd brought the noise BIG TIME last night. True, the chant need some work but at least the atmosphere is there now. I can remember going to USA - Mexico games in LA and thinking that we might as well be playing in Azteca.

Ahhhh, that makes sense. I know some of the Euro clubs chants can be pretty cheesy.

100% agree!

If you don't see a difference between yelling defense and a traditional soccer chant you are dumb.

The American fan experience at most sporting events is terrible.

Give me "corny" chanting every day over a droning yell, an occasional wave, and occasional applause.

i went to the guatemala qualifier in 2013 in KC, and that crowd was insane then. i felt like i played in the game i was so tired from the non stop chanting and singing and jumping around

I was in Dallas last week and it was a big disappointment enthusiasm wise

I'm fine with the chants. Like others have said, as long as they are loud, I really don't care if they are corny. I also really like the I Believe chant. They could be saying "I like cheese that we can lend", and it would still be cool seeing the whole stadium jumping up and down chanting.

Yep, I'm glad there's never any chanting in Tiger Stadium on Saturdays.

I don't know if that is actually the origin but I hate it.

The main problem is none of ours are ever clever whatsoever. If the time is taken to develop player chants and chants against teams like Mexico than it changes the game.

It's completely different with English clubs. The Suarez, Torres and even some of the ManC chants mocking Gerrard are legendary.

"I believe" needs to absolutely die. It was fine for the WC but it sucks and makes us sound so B-team.
