Is it a launch party or a rally to get the name changed? I'd send my support from Houston for the latter.

Probably? I will double check tomorrow if I remember. You can always park downtown.

The name is about as unoriginal and boring as it gets.

If you are a founding member, then I was told that you should park at the Yellow Lot and take the shuttle over cause there will be a check-in there at the Yellow Lot.

Also, let me know what you think of the event and any constructive criticism you have (besides the actual name of the team).

I'm all for "soccer club" names. But "United" actually MEANS something, and unless more than one already existing club is merging with another, then no. Dynamo is fine, Sporting is fine, it also gives the club room to expand to other sports, and even Dynamo. Real is OK, as well, IF they're really aligned with another Real club in Spain.

I give D.C. a pass since it's the Capitol club.

So are they going to reveal logos and uniforms at the party? Also, has the name been officially confirmed?

I'm thinking I might just meet the wife in Midtown at her office and Uber over around 7. I think it's just presenting the name (officially) and crest and logos and shite.

Can't stay for the Gold Cup watch party though.

I'll in-game it (maybe...OK, probably not), but I'll take some pictures and such. Probably mingle, have a drink or two, listen to what King Arthur has to say and bail. It's a school night dammit.

Sounds good. It does suck that the name was released, and I have no idea who did it. Hope it is good. I can't make it.

It's beyond idiotic. I know we'll get over it, but we really shouldn't. You almost have to start with the concept of "let's pick a dumb name" because there is no other explanation.

A meaningless name copied from a club you have no connection to that will be in a league with 2 other clubs with similar names. And then you have the club come out and say stuff like "well it really makes sense because you're going to see this city unite behind the club." How unbelievably fricking obtuse.

Sorry I know it is ridiculous to add to the many other rants on the subject, but I just can't get over how pathetic the ordeal was.

I left them a note at their "contact us" page basically telling them the name was stupid, and I'm glad I waited on the announcment before wasting $50 on the founder's club.

I know they don't care, but it made me feel better.

That logo looks pretty good. It is simple and classic looking, and I like that the color palette is a little different than existing teams.

Still don't care for the name, they really mishandled that IMO.

Logo is boring. The "A" is unbalanced in its placement....pretty generic IMO.
