I thought the top 5 round pick thing was only for the summer supplemental draft. To me, the fact that you drafted a player or not should be of no consequence this far into the season.

It says that the same rules for the first supplemental draft apply. I read the rules as a literal interpretation to come up with that.

According to Vick, I don't think you move up.

I say starting next year, if you didn't draft the transferred player you get no compensation even if he was a top-5th round pick that year. If you determine that rule should begin retroactively this year I wont complain or question your rules interpretation.

I don't mind the jackwoods situation staying intact. Payet was his 1st round pick. So I'm good with the winter transfer rule being the same as the summer rule regarding top 5 round picks being lost to transfer (provided you were the original team to draft that player AND you kept him on your roster the entire time).
