I say the drafted player rule should apply for the same reason it does in the summer supplemental draft - to avoid someone picking up a player on the way out just to move up in the supp. draft.

I'll defer to whatever the league decides. But, I don't think the draft held over 5 months back should be the deciding factor in the winter supplemental.

I like the idea of moving up still. I just lost one of Europe's most creative midfielders over the past few seasons, and it would suck to just be out one of my top two picks for almost half a season. Bleed almost lost Diego Costa. Would suck if he didn't have a chance to replace Costa if he left.

Obviously I benefit in this instance, so I don't think my vote should really count. I can see GC's frustration, though. Maybe we should make it to where you only get to move up if the player is picked in the first 2 or 3 rounds or something?

I think the literal interpretation would say that you only get compensated for a top five round pick.

However, the change to the pick compensation rules occurred during an active season (after the draft begun I believe). With that in mind, I think both Jackwoods and the Mick should move up. In future seasons, you would only get compensated for losing a top five round pick.

Since GC would be most penalized by this ruling, do you think that you should pick first, second (Jackwoods first), or third (Jackwoods and the Mick first and second)?

At this point, I am leaning:

1. Jackwoods
2. Not sure

The rules have always said that you get compensation for losing a player. I never changed that part of the league rules. In past seasons, people have jumped to the top of winter supplemental draft I believe. Let me double prior league sites (the league history tab will answer all questions).

Yes, I would be most impacted in this case (albeit by only 1 position). But I'm in the camp of allowing Jackwoods AND Mick to both move ahead of me. I thinks it's obvious that neither player were selected with the intent to hold for a transfer to move up.

I also still think that the rules should be different for the 2 supplemental drafts. Keep it as-is for the summer window and then, for the winter, have that only apply if a player was on someones roster prior to the start of the winter window or a certain # of weeks prior to the start of the window. I really think it makes no sense to penalize someone for losing a player in January just because they didn't draft them. There are plenty of players that emerge during the course of a season that become more valuable than some draft picks. If I were to pick up a player in September that lit it up all through Dec only to lost them in January, I think it would only be fair to move up as compensation for the loss.

In my opinion, this is what the order should look like:

Draft Order:
1. Countless Managers FC (jackwoods4) - 3rd in standings; lost Payet
2. Hand of God (The Mick) - 2nd in standings; lost Ighalo
3. Real Flush FC (GeauxColonels)
4. Crippled Palace FC (BleedPurpleGold)
5. Piggy Klopp Ride FC (Tigerstark)
6. West Harambe United (WarSlamEagle)
7. Zlatan and the Dodgy Flappers (etm512)
8. Ladycakes FC (Vicks Kennel Club)
9. The Big Lewandowski FC (Col Reb is my Mascot)
10. Besic Instinct (Wait for It...)

When do we want to get the draft rolling? I'd like to try to knock it out the next few days so everybody can get their lineup set for Saturday.

Start it whenever. Sorry, the past few days have been impossible to do this.

I agree with GC's draft order. In future seasons, I think you should only get compensated for the top five pick. I 100% believe you deserve to go first for losing Payet.

GC suggested not making it draft based. Another option is that you have to own the player for say 10+ consecutive weeks before they are transferred out in order to go first. Let's figure out the future after we finish.

With the first pick in tWinter Supplemental Draft, Countless Managers FC select:

Gabriel Jesus, FWD, Manchester City
Drop: The player formerly known as West Ham's Dimitri Payet

Pick Analysis: We were very tempted to look elsewhere out of fear that Jesus could lose his place in the team to Sergio Aguero. However, due to Jesus' versatility, we've decided to go ahead and take him over Manolo Gabbiadini.

Kid, don't let us down.

Are transfers still off limits until the draft is completed? I've got a couple people I need to drop.

Just checked out the other thread, and it appears that DBAFC is carrying almost the whole league. Arse appears to be an active owner, but not sure who else.

Once I confirm their number of active owners, then I will come up with next season's plan.
