After a big business put my small business out of commission I've had to take a job making 8.50 a hour at a small business that doesn't provide health insurance. I'm ok with that, I don't spend that much and don't have kids and can live off $8.50... I'm ok with even not having health insurance, even though it would be nice...

So, Alabama isn't allowing obamacare, at least not for my annual income. And they aren't expanding Medicaid to where I can get it, yet I'm going to be taxed for not having insurance? Or I have to get a private plan I can't afford... God damn I'm starting to hate the people in this country. I don't blame Obama, I blame every other motherfricker that's either too greedy to let me get insurance for a price I can afford or too fricking worried if I die or not.

Yeah, I can get a better job... and I probably will soon... what about all these other folks that can't because jobs aren't available that pay enough because everything is being outsourced to china, india, etc or to mexicans. The Wealthy are just as much to blame as the poor for the issues in this country.

We could solve this by letting insurers sell across state lines.

What a confusing pile of letters and spaces.

You're complaining that you have to pay a tax, but you don't blame Obama? Who do you blame?

You can't get Obamacare, so you'll have to get a private plan? What's the diifference?

Who is greedy and keeping you from getting insurance?

You could have gotten a cheap plan before they were outlawed by Obamacare.

I don't have insurance and I don't want insurance. I never have. I did the math and figured that there was a high probability that it would be much cheaper to pay my medical bills out of pocket. It has been a huge boon to my bank account. I'll just pay the fine, when it comes. You should do the same.

Aren't you a student? Doesn't your school offer health insurance?

If you are single with no kids and making 8.50 an hour, the penalty won't be very much, from what I have seen. You can always file a hardship exemption.

Private plans are pretty fricking expensive, more than I can afford.

I blame the people that think I have to have an insurance plan/those that don't want to let me have that plan at a price I can afford.

The wealthy are the ones that are keeping me from getting the plan, but like I said I'm ok with not having one.

I had one, it wasn't cheap. I live in a relatively low cost area and have probably the sweetest rent utility combo available by 150 dollars or so in my area. My rent is only 325 and includes internet, tv, and utilities, and I don't have any kids. I'm managing to feed the pig on $8.50 an hour, but very slowly. I don't spend much at all on myself, but have only gained about 1000 dollars in my bank account over the last 4 months.

I get about 1100 dollars every month after taxes... $325 of that goes to my rent, utilities, and internet. that leaves me with $775 to live off of.... can you live off 775 a month and put money in the bank... I do.

And then I need a oil change, or insurance on my car, or new tags, etc... etc... etc...

But that's because of Obamacare.

Most young people would have been better served with a sub 200 catatropshic care monthly premium and then contributing what they could to an HSA.

Obama care ended that. Now you must buy a high end plan that even covers expenses that do not apply to your gender, much less your specific needs.

Horse shite, did you ever have a private plan? they are and were outrageous... no one could afford one that didn't make a wealthy living... I used to have one.. it was expensive. You know who had private plans? Small Business owners that made a pretty good living.

I've missed the logic where you got to this conclusion.

Because I don't make a lot of money I can't afford a health insurance plan... however, a lot people think I should have one. Therefore, eventhough I can't afford it, I'm going to be charged (taxed) for not having it.

If Alabama would have expanded Medicaid like was originally proposed in Obamacare you would be okay. The blame goes to the politicians in your state.

Amd please take time to read this carefully, it explains why selling insurance across state lines would be awful.

BTW because you make so little your penalty will be almost zero, so don't worry about that. Do you even have to file at all with that low of an income? If not, no penalty.

Hey League Champs, you're a fricking idiot. Cause you don't know shite. you may be ok with me dieing, but a lot of other republicans aren't ok with poor people dieing, abortion, child's dieing... etc. A lot of Republican's aren't ok with watching a homeless guy die either... Alot of them wanna blame fat lazy americans.. but at the same time don't wanna pay more for oranges, eggs, etc.. even though those cheap prices are available cause mexican's did the work...

I'm an engineer or doctor and I make this much money and deserve it, but I buy stuff from China, Japan, etc... cause it's cheaper... and then I get mad at hard working American's that just wanna be able to go to the doctor cause you don't think they are worth more than $7.25 a hour to cut your yard.

Why the frick would there be a penalty to begin with... If I file a hardship exemption... then I'm just a mooch...

According to the gov't I'm probably due a decent amount of money or at least benefits....according to a lot of people I'd be a mooch for accepting them.....

You sound like a bitter person with misplaced anger. Perhaps your new Obamacare will pay for therapy. All this anger will do is cloud your thoughts and prevent you from clarity of thought.

I'm not fricking with you. I'm serious. Get your head screwed on straight. You should be commended for finding a job instead of laying around. When you start getting interviews for better positions, you likely will encounter appreciation of your character by those persons making the hiring decisions.

Life is full of obstacles. How you handle them determines whether you move past them or get stuck behind them. Figure this out, look forward, learn from the mstakes of the past and grow stronger, more resilient and work smarter as a result. Your rewards will come.

And OP is wrong. Blame Obama.
