Were they ever truly “united”?
Nothing will change. It’s all charades.

Can’t believe he actually got shot by a liberal nutbag.

Will Scalise be House Speaker?
FYI, 94.3% of all statistics on the internet are fictional...

IMO the problem are the lobbyists who want all the spending.
It's the people versus the lobbyists and the representatives are stuck in the middle.
The lobbyists are a lot more persuasive than the people. The people are a much bigger group but they are not focused. The lobbyists are a much smaller group but they are focused with money and resources to persuade and target representatives in DC.
The lobbyists are vultures and will get their pound of flesh through your representatives. They want your money and they will get your money.

He has to get a majority vote by the full House to become the Speaker. He will need almost all of the Republican votes.

There are 221 Republicans. He needs 218 to become Speaker assuming everyone votes and does not vote present.

I want to see our leaders act on behalf of the people... there are too many that enter political office moderately wealthy and leavea top 1%.

IMO if the Motion to Vacate is bumped to 5 (that's about has high of a threshold I believe the Gaetz crew will go) and Scalise promises single subject spending bills with the ability to amend and debate amendments (like old time appropriations) he will get full support.

Nope, He’s a rino all the way. He supported Obama care.

He’s more conservative than McCarthy but still palatable to the milquetoast
Yes. I think he can unite the party and he will be infinitely more effective than McCarthy

That is exactly the function single subject appropriation bills and why lobbyists hate single subject appropriation bills.
Lobbyists what CRs to continue to hide the grift.

He is a career politician. His entire working life has been about getting, and staying, elected. This country's boatrace to eradicate personal liberties, permit Democrats' state-sanctioned persecution of political enemies, and throw open our borders has occurred on his watch.

In the propaganda war, with Scalise in such a high profile position in the government the right can use this as a rhetorical cudgel against the left to frame and leverage narratives in their favor. I see Gaetz doing it already (but Gaetz might be the most rhetorically gifted representative in the house...Mike Johnson from Louisiana is also very good).

He's either more conservative or about the same as McCarthy.
So, it's a net risk benefit.

So many are confused. Nominate does not equal elected.
Scalise has been nominated by the GOP. I'm sure the Dems nominated Jefferies.
