Yes. If CO and WA do several billion in sales over the next few years, I'd like to see which states are going to be willing to turn a blind eye to those much-needed new revenue streams.

It'll be like state lotteries or casinos. People from surrounding states that don't permit it will inflate the numbers, prompting those states to legalize it. Then they'll all wonder why they aren't making as much as the original state.

One would already assume that much of America stays stoned by observing their everyday behaviors.

It already has. I expect to see several states in 2014 legalize it.

I think the big win for CO is skiing tourism. CO competes against CA and UT for skiing/boarding tourism revenue. CO is already a great destination for winter sports, if you are a 25 year old snow boarder, where are you going to go? UT or CO?

It will be interesting to see if that impacts family tourism. I doubt it will much, as mom and dad likely toked it up in college.

Go freedom.

Go freedom! Amen.

Still don't want stoners driving big trucks, flying airplanes, or doing heart surgery. Same as with alcoholics.

Vermont is going with universal healthcare at the state level and it may work there because they are willing to do it and homogenous enough to support it
Liberal state full of white people about to show the south how to make a good idea even better.

well I don't care if a stoner drives a truck, airplane or does heart surgery assuming they don't do it stoned.

I am not sure why people think people that smoke weed smoke it all of the time.

The dominoes are starting to fall and it's only a question of when it'd going to be legal everywhere, not if.

Thank god. Americans are finally starting to wake up and see what an abomination the war on drugs is. We spend billions on the WOD and it wasn't made a dent in drug use rates. It's also enabled law enforcement to abuse the civil rights of citizens

Thanks Colorado for starting it all.

Pretty much says it all right there.

funny thing is the price hasn't come down. It is selling at $400 per ounce which is $100 more than it sold for in the late 90's in Seattle.

way to early to be jumping to any conclusions on prices. it was the first day and they had lines wrapped around stores, with some stores selling out.

all about supply and demand

and also, most people would happily pay a little more to be able to purchase legally and being able to pick and choose what type of strains they want.

Yes but only in blue states. The federal law will be enforced in all the red states.

Until they can determine how impared you are at the time as with alcohol, then many occupations will still not allow it in your system.

In the south, doubt it.
