Yea, I got that, but we haven't figured out photosynthesis yet. Maybe genetic splicing in the future will fix that.

Easy, lets just take a few tips from this thing:
Elysia chlorotica

... and increase our intake of plants. Its a win win. The vegetarians finally get to win something and we get free food from the sun

Our brain makes us elite in comparison to all other creatures on this planet.

You say that, and yet we arent the best at anything but cognitive awareness.

Other animals can run faster, jump higher, breath underwater naturally, fly naturally, live longer, have more efficient metabolisms, live in environments that would instantly kill us, propagate their genes better, etc.

Moreover, we will almost certainly go extinct one day like 99 % of the animals who have ever lived have while other forms of life continue on about their business.

We're only special because we have the cognitive ability to believe we are. When the rubber meets the road though, we fall just as easily as any other creature. We are still largely powerless over nature, die by the tens of million annually from disease, dont have the slightest real clue why we're here and do things to each more sadistic than any animal ever could.

We're just not that special.

Then we're good

I can offer logical reasons why I disagree with christianity, but the physical evidence you accept and that is dismissed by many is what I was referring to.

Sure we are. Human existence is awesome in every way.

In the universe, we may not be but we rule here on earth.

We are also better at one other thing: distance running. No creature on Earth can run as long as a homo sapien. This may have had as much to do with our success as our brain power (and may be related, I'm not really an expert).

They can run faster, but they cannot run longer.

This is not to say that ALL humans can do it, but those who actually train (and likely our ancestors, who had little choice in doing so) can run for a greater distance than anything else.

One of the best things about being a biped.

Overwhelming majority of non humans on this planet use their skill for survival. We use ours for enrichment of our lives, entertainment, etc.

Horses can dead sprint for miles and carry 250+ pounds worth of man and supplies for hours at a time. Show me an Ethiopian that can run a marathon with another dude on his back

This is true. Ancient human hunters could literally run a deer to exhaustion before killing it. Some running tribes can still do this.

I made no claims about carrying an additional load.

A man can keep pace for longer than any quadruped, with the proper conditioning.

Maybe, but unlike most other creatures, that gives us the ability to adapt very quickly. We can thrive almost anywhere on this planet. I can't think of another creature that can do that.

You could go with viruses, but the scientific community doesn't consider them living.

You keep saying "naturally" as if that is relevant. That nullifies the exact thing that makes our species "special". We can defy that which is "natural".

Nature and evolution said man shouldn't fly, breathe underwater, move at incredible speeds, jump higher, live longer, live in environments that would kill us instantly (space), etc. We told nature and evolution to both go frick themselves.

Moreover, we will almost certainly go extinct one day like 99 % of the animals who have ever lived have while other forms of life continue on about their business.
Everything will eventually go extinct. It's the nature of existence.
quote:

We could destroy every living creature on this planet if we wanted to. We create amazing new medicines to fight disease and have doubled our average lifespans. Who knows where we will go from there. Who cares if we have no idea why we are here? It's not relevant. And as to your last point, our vicious and sadistic nature is just one more thing which makes us special.

Animals have no need for distance running. We do it because we can, no animal would naturally try it.

Physiologically, you could train a horse to run for hours and hours if you really wanted to. No reason that many other animals couldnt do it with the right aerobic training. Nothing special about our heart or lung capacity vs the muscle mass it meeds to nourish.

Its not about speed, its about being able to keep going without stopping.

The Tarahumara word for themselves, Rarámuri, means "runners on foot" or "those who run fast" in their native tongue according to some early ethnographers like Norwegian Carl Lumholtz, though this interpretation has not been fully agreed upon. With widely dispersed settlements, these people developed a tradition of long-distance running up to 200 miles (320 km) in one session, over a period of two days through their homeland of rough canyon country, for inter-village communication and transportation and hunting.[32] Their running in sandals is described in the book Born to Run.

And these people just do it as tradition, imagine having to do it for survival.

At this point in our place as a species, there is little need for it. Tens of thousands of years ago? It was an enormous advantage.

Quadrupeds lung capacity/breathing is limited by their strides. The mechanics of their running require them to inhale/exhale with each stride. Because we have two legs, a big arse, and a stable neck, we are able to breathe much more efficiently.

And that is our natural abilities. We also invented automobiles which travel faster than any other creature alive.

Don't forget the fleshlight. There are no limits to human ingenuity. Now there growing vaginas in labs and implanting them. I'm gonna get my wife like five of them in various colors, textures, and tone.
