His hangup seems to stem from the fact they're Mexicans.

You have some weird hang ups about people. Just because someone doesn't speak English doesn't make them illegal. Nor does greeting someone with Bienvenidos make you illegal or unable to speak English.

What type of response do you expect here? If you even think in a different language, people here will accuse you of not "assimilating" to our culture and values

Literally everything on the Del Taco menu is a number 2

I think that in terms of land area, the majority of California is conservative as is most of the country is it not?

I don't have a problem with anyone speaking another language, but at the same time, outside of things like Mexican restaurants and Asian markets, I don't think anyone likes walking into a business and feeling like you're in another country. I ate at a burger king in Orlando a couple years ago and I think I was the only English speaking person in the entire establishment. What language a private resident speaks is their own business, but English should be used by employees when communicating with customers.

Cali should be 2 states.

North Cali and South Cali

I would be down with N Cali.

It would be more appropriate to separate coastal California and the interior.

Not something I am too aware of tbh.

I am in a predominately military area with a large Air Force Base here, so I haven't seen anything other than being respectful to the military and general courtesy overall.

Truthfully to me that's what matters most, the actions of a lot of these libs don't portray that though.

Let me guess.

You don't use Google or any social media products which are all based in the place you hate.

Did they take your order in English? Did they understand you? If they didn't, then it would be a problem.

You got your burger king so why do you care what language they speak with other employees/customers. Why is it that big of a problem?

The employees spoke English and understood me, but the point being is people in general like to feel like they belong in their own country. It's bad enough when you walk into an establishment and everyone there is speaking another language but then when you start having employees interact with you in a language that is not your own is when it passes into the point of ridiculousness.

There seems to be a sentiment that immigrants shouldn't have to learn the language and culture of the country they are living in, rather that natural born citizens should learn their language and be accepting of their customs. Human nature does not work that way.

Again, Trump CANT send any National Guard anywhere. Especially without declaring an act of war. They are state militia who respond to the governor of the state. Their numbers pale in comparison to active duty though and they would never fight their brothers in arms. Still, Trump doesn't really have the authority to send them to stop the rioters.
The president may federalize the guard to enforce the law and maintain order if/when civil and state authorities are unwilling or unable. See all the instances during the Civil Rights and anti-war movements, some of the notable riots, etc. Not sure if the guard was federalized or under the governor's authority during Katrina, but I know they were employed.

This should, of course, only be done in extraordinary circumstances. Basically a serious, prolonged breakdown in Civil order or some kind of activity in defiance of federal law by a governor.

How is anyone expecting you to learn their language? Also if being accepting of their customs means eating the shite of some Mexican food, I am down.

I understand what you're saying and agree with much of it, but if you were trying to get by in Orange County on low 5 figures and eating from Del Tacos where they truly didn't speak English, then you weren't in an area of CA that people brag about. Sounds like Santa Ana, if I had to guess.
Having grown up in Pointe Coupee Parish, my biggest issue here is just too damned many people. I could never see California as "home", but if you can't find beauty in CA, you haven't looked very hard.

The whole bay area is white hot with growth. I more than doubled my income when I moved here last year to do construction work. It's been a life changing step up in tax brackets.

When I visited SF a year or two back the city was pretty amazing. Some great food and sights there.
