I'm pretty nationalistic, so I find nothing wrong with nationalism.
I think bigger problems arise when niche views of what define America are worked into a brand of nationalism.

Because globalist have been successful in weakening traditional western power through globalist ideas. The push back to nationalism means these traditional powers will start growing again and these globalist cannot keep up.

The current form of globalism failed because only the elite rich were gaining wealth, so for that reason I am against it. But nationalism is not perfect. Hitler was a strong nationalist. If we were to go full nationalism and remove ourself from world politics, someone will fill that void, and push for full control again like Hitler did. It is a game of balance. We should put our people first, but lend a hand to productive people across the globe. Take all of the best and brightest, and keep the .5% from starting monopolies and hording all of our resources.

Nationalism is bad for the powerful, international clique. The global aristocracy and psychopaths do not appreciate that nationalism is limiting to the power someone could have in the world.
