Until after Mitch deemed to contrive it into a vitally important "issue" seemingly overnight a couple of years ago?

It's weird to me.

Because they weren't told how to think yet. Give them a break, it's hard subsisting on a couple brain cells.

Because we don't give a shite. If the people who run New Orleans decide they want to take them down, ok, they can take them down.

Why weren't you shouting about the value of the memorial supporting killing the uppity, revolting blacks before they proposed to put it in mothballs?

that's how social action happens, hosfly

a person or group of people bring up an issue they have and other agree or disagree with it. if enough agree, people protest or petition for change.

trying to say because PT progressives didn't start talking about the issue before it became an issue, they don't really care, is pretty straw manish

the statues always represented slavery and oppression. We've just progressed enough as a society that we now have the will to do something about it. Mardi Gras survives without a Comus parade...

I was going to respond, but what you posted just doesn't make any damn sense. Have a downvote and open a book.

I thought you guys supported local government. The people of New Orleans don't want a shitty monument to white supremacy anymore.

Pretending like these statues are nothing more than the liberal SJW flavor of the month is laughable.

You lost the election. Elections have consequences.

(Am I doing this right?)

I didn't find them offensive, nor do I really understand the big to-do over the whole issue. I am not upset enough over them to care that they are being removed, but don't have a strong enough opinion on them to advocate keeping them.

Seems like a cheap political ploy to garner votes and waste money.

Do I need to shout about the value of the blue shirt I'm wearing in case someone in the future deems wearing blue shirts offfensive and tries to ban them?

it should be a sign of how much we've progressed, that St. Bernard, Jefferson, and St. Tammany probably don't want one either
