Full auto guns were never even produced or out there in a considerable quantity even when they were legal.

BamaAtl is using the same argument I was using in the Bump stock thread and getting Trumpkins to fall right into a trap.

Well played

What the hell does Trump have to do with this?

A) This debate has went on longer than Trump has been in politics, by far

B) There actually are people out there who support the 2nd Amendment, who don't like Trump.

What a tool you are.

so you think those 310,000,000 guns will just be turned in?

Of course not. But if we make them harder to get, and offer to buy back others..that number will go down. Fewer people will die. Win-win!

So gun control works?

Weird, people here say it doesn't work with zero data to support that.

Huh.

Actually most mass casualty events are not even done with LEGAL semi-automatic weapons. A good bit are done with a mix of rifles and handguns. Pretty much blows your "gotcha" right out of the water if it was all about legality because Semi-automatics are very easy to access and are rarely used.

What would you suggest to make mass murdering with semi-automatic weapons less efficient?

What laws and regulations would you like to see that arent in place to prevent this happening again?

Gun buy backs

Mark Serbu used to machine out cheapo $20 slamfire .22 pistols, then take them to police gun buy backs and get like $200 a pop for them. Dude made a killing

the assault weapons ban of the Clinton era didn't do much, if anything

Conservative New York Times

quote:

On Sept. 13, 1994, President Bill Clinton signed an assault weapons ban into law. It barred the manufacture and sale of new guns with military features and magazines holding more than 10 rounds. But the law allowed those who already owned these guns — an estimated 1.5 million of them — to keep their weapons.

The policy proved costly. Mr. Clinton blamed the ban for Democratic losses in 1994. Crime fell, but when the ban expired, a detailed study found no proof that it had contributed to the decline.

They are very expensive, very rare, and totally unnecessary to commit any act of crime.

I love how you think you have some gotcha moment here.

Absolutely not. Automatic firearms were not widely owned before the NFA. They regulated something that wasn't a widespread issue.

You require a $3,000/year type 10 FFL to manufacture destructive devices per law. Yet people build explosives rather frequently. Even the vegas shooter had bomb making equipment in his vehicle.

Every gun owned by the Las Vegas shooter was legally purchased. Same with Newtown, Orlando, San Bernardino, etc etc etc.
