Make the Green Energy machine go brrr in '22. Although, it would be easy to offset Russian imports with increased US energy independence...

Finally. We are back to normal in DC. We have an adult back in the WH to continue us towards the way things used to be!

Depends on how you look at being energy independent
When we were a net exporter of oil we still imported from other countries, Russia included
This infographic refers to refined gasoline. It's worth noting that we've been a net exporter of refined gasoline since 2011 and still are today.
So we're as energy independent on that front as we were on the oil front a couple years ago

Repeat after me - The United States is a net exporter of refined gasoline

What if all of the US export numbers were actually what was imported, plus some of our production, to create higher prices at the pumps? How's does one test gasoline to determine it's origin?

What if you just blurted out something random jibberish to sound as dumb as possible? Wait, nevermind.

Why would you want to do that?

That isn't what "energy independence" means, really. In theory it means we can sustain our own needs. We've been able to do that between 83%-95% since ~ 2011. Some years we've been net exporters.
But I'm not sure where their data comes from ...
You can see total crude & product fuel sources here: LINK
Finished gasoline imports mostly came from Canada.

Seriously, listen to yourself. You don't make any sense.

That's actually a real thing. Shell does it in Nigeria. Fingerprinting of their crude for tracing purposes when it eventually gets loaded onto a non-contracted ship to sell to the Chinese.
Those stories are unbelievable. If they make it out of the swamps into open water, they'll just sell the crude and give them the ship

Riddle me this Powerman . If on a world scale we still are a net exporter of refined fuel how I the hell do you equate losses of American production of oil and rising prices as a net good for Americans or anyone in the world except other oil producer nations like Russia and OPEC that thrive on instability of world policy. Refined products obviously is a necessity but same exports can be made with oil production from North American sources which was being achieved for the first time in 60 years just a year ago . Capitalism is great and I agree but inflation is a death mail at this time . American policy of defaulting for the good of the world in supposedly helping them has cost us dearly , opposite of the effects we showed the world in building the our nation from scratch.
