What's China going to do? Destroy America's manufacturing base?

Or maybe they will turn us into their indentured servants where we owe them everything we have & make and everything we can ever hope to have and make for 3 or 5 generations?
Or maybe they will take our "crack rock" away; I mean, what would happen if they quit lending us money and started to demand that we actually pay them back?
The histrionic screams about how Trump could have the audacity to DARE accept a phone call from Taiwan are out of control.
I guess we're fricked now - right?
We might as well give up and continue to bow to our yellow skinned overlords (is that racist, I mean, I am a Trump supporter, so that makes me racist already, so what the frick? Right?).
Anyway, I am amazingly "unalarmed"!
I think everything is going to be fine.
We've tried bending over and gabbing our ankles for long enough.
I'm ready to see what happens with an "America First" attitude.
I know it's very frightening; but what the hell - why not.
I mean, it worked as we built this country, and what we have been doing HAS NOT been working.
And were going to do it anyway, Trump's landslide victory ensures it!

Trump's landslide victory
not really
less popular votes.
EV won.
Pa, Mich and Wisconsin. two of them are still recounting.
does not meet landslide definition.

Meh ... they are not invincible.
They may dump so greenbacks and cash-in some bonds but they depend on us and our ignorant fricking consumer society more than we depend on them.
We need to start building transformers here again before we do anything else.

he won the lion's share of America and you know it
the big liberal population centers are against him
the heartland and backbone of America is for him
he won 70 + % of the counties in America
we have an electoral college to protect us from "mob rule" and "true democracy"
popular vote doesn't mean that much; and Trump was right about illegal votes - how many felons were added to voting rolls?
how many dead people and illegals voted?
the fake news and democrats scoff; but thye know, and YOU know that Hilldawg got a bunch of improper votes
and the recounts are a scam; nothing more than a false flag attempting to delegitimize Trump
we can piss and moan & bicker for 5 pages or agree to disagree
306 electoral votes and most of the country = a landslide IMO

At least you're past denial. This board is so funny. So many here are afraid to be called racist but there is so much of it here. About 30 people agreed that black crime was genetic. Lol.

What's China going to do?
Somehow I think you will try to spin that as "winning".

no - I think I am ready to have a real discussion on race relations
today's discourse borders on the ridiculous and the absurd
anything that could be viewed as "offensive" is taboo - if it is said by a white man; even if it is snarky, relevant or funny - there is a difference between disparaging and hateful and just plain real talk - are we ready for real talk yet?
will we ever be?

Just be glad you aren't a black Muslim. We get daily calls for genocide of those people.

If it feels like a landslide when it hits ya...it's probably a landslide.

Dump $1.3 trillion in US treasurys on the market.
Less than 7% of the total US debt.
It would harm China more than the US.

The leverage we have on China is only our buying power. We are their biggest customer.
Some of Trump's comments, while understood, are going to be very troubling to the central government. They are very efficient. There are no appellate courts in China.
But if you don't think they will gut us like a fish given the opportunity then you are wrong.

Our technology and entertainment industries rely on having access to China as a market for their goods and services. Without it, they would be in deep deep trouble. That's shy they put up with Chinese censorship of their material, the market is too valuable to turn away. We also ship a ton of agricultural products to China. Our technology and weapons industries are nearly completely reliant on supplies of rate earth metals found nearly exclusively in China. China is a major supplier of finished goods for every retail store in America as well as a supplier of raw materials and widgets for nearly every factory in America. So, yes, China has a ton of leverage. They're a top 3 global economy and our biggest trading partner. Both nations need each other. Don't forget that they also have nukes, control the most heavily trafficed shippig lanes in the world, serve as the leash for a rogue nuclear state with the 5th largest land army, and is poised to, at any moment, annihilate 3 of our top 10 trading partners (S. Korea, Taiwan, and Japan) at the drop of a hat, or possibly fight a long protracted war with another one (India). They're also in short striking distance of several other valuable long time allies or trading partners like Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, The Phillipines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Oh, and their army is much much much larger than ours, and with their population bump of fighting age males, they have a huge draftable military force that they need aomething to do with.
We do not want a trade war or a hot war with China if we can avoid it. However, that doesn't mean we have no leverage in negotiations with them. It just means that we have a thin line to walk.
