Nutrition goes beyond the healthcare debate and moves into other huge parts of our society -- the food industry is entirely incorrect too. The way we grow, produce, distribute, sell is not as it should be.
I agree. The govt should give us 'food coupons' determined by what is scientifically best for us. Everyone could get a coupon each week for some Kale, some lentils and some mineral water.
If you want meat you can get soy protein instead.

Have you ever looked at the financials of one of these co-called charity hospitals? They may be registered with the IRS as a non-profit, but they are anything but a charity.

Stfu.
You're a joke.

It's hilarious that you are now an expert on the healthcare industry, the banking industry and the food industry and you know more about those industries than people who work in them.

BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?

1. The patients pay ZERO.
2. The patients don't have INSURANCE.
There is a difference between 'charity' and 'non profit.'
Here in Shreveport the charity hospital was called Confederate. That had to be changed so it went to LSU. Now it's University. Tomorrow it might be MLK. But it's the hospital for people with no money or insurance.
Willis Knighton is a non-profit. It is NOT a charity hospital. Poor folks don't go there unless it's the ER. And poor people do go to the ER there because it's nicer than the charity hospital.
But it sure as hell isn't a 'market' system. If it were people would pay for service out of pocket or buy insurance. If you have neither your options are friends, family, church, lie in the gutter and die while thinking of all the stupid decisions you made to get yourself into this situation.

Coming from you, that's a compliment. Seriously.
You're the most narcissist poster on this site. By far.
You're an expert on everything and yet you know nothing of any substance.

I don't know any doctor that lives a modest lifestyle if you get my drift.

This OP is calling for people to discuss something from a different perspective.
We spend a lot of time debating and being split as a nation over who should pay for healthcare, but there is little discussion on the nature of healthcare itself.
Making that observation and calling for others to join in on this perspective is not acting like an expert. You overplayed you hand. (Insert response with quotes of mine saying 'everything is wrong with healthcare and the food industry).
You were definititely called a narcissist at one point in your life. It upset you so much that you decided to use it in your arsenal online. At this point when you say it it's like watching someone with dementia repeat themselves -- it has no power or meaning.

People from all across the world come here and pay for healthcare that is better than they can receive at home. We must be doing something right on the care side. It's the cost side that we are having issues with.

Right.
Because the comment that initiated that response isn't why we can't have nice things.

It's part of it. The overall cost of the whole behemoth is the problem.

In certain ways we have excellent healthcare, worthy of coming here from all parts of the globe.
It's a bit of a paradox. It takes some cognitive weight lifting to see why. It's really easy to stunt thought at the fact you provided.
