Students want designated coloreds only spaces on campus... seriously

quote:

A student activist group at the University of Michigan is demanding campus officials provide them with “a permanent designated space on central campus for Black students and students of color to organize and do social justice work.”

Life truly is cyclical. I guess once they win back their segregation they will demand free work for white man again? This is bizarre beyond belief

I wonder how black people from the 50s-60s would react if they found out their descendants want to do away with the very things they fought so hard for.

Every black man born before 1980 should be livid. We're regressing bigly.

The clamor for a segregated space for students of color to organize social justice efforts comes even as the public university builds a $10 million center for black students in the center of campus. In their demands, students explain why the new black student center is not enough, “because we want a space solely dedicated to community organizing and social justice work specifically for people of color.”

. . . wtf . . . these people don't want "spaces," they want preferential treatment and ultimate tyranny

This is precisely what comes to my mind every time I hear these stories. I told my wife the other day, "Could you imagine what Rosa Parks would think seeing the bullshite people are protesting today?"

I like how they've adopted the "people of color" moniker. Yet using the term "colored people" would be considered highly offensive and racist.

And yea the desire for segregation by the Left is very odd.

Here's the way I look at it:

They want one month, we get 11.
They want one space, we get the rest.

Come on...access to a social/economic structure that heretofore was impossible. access to the political process that was inaccessible. a more pluralistic society that promotes our capacities to open to differences. To name but a few.

Can't they designate part of the student center for this purpose?

Plenty of appropriate signage already available

This is great! We should segregate the classrooms as well, and when the all white classrooms do better grade wise than the black classrooms they will use the racist card and want to desegregate. They will claim that their black only spaces are rundown and dilapidated (because they will tear it up) and that the white spaces are nicer etc and thus claim that they are unfairly treated.

segregation's transformation into integrated social institutions and equal opportunity economic practices does not mean desegregation. That's merely integration and business oversight.

Desegregation (e.g. social engineering and counter-reformative measures of community sustainability) has done nothing but bring down the society.
