Adultery, an ancient. crime that remains on many books.
When David H Patraeus resigned as director of the CIA. because of adultery he was widely understood to be acknowledging a misdeed, not a crime.Yet in his state of residence, Virginia, as in many other states (22) adultery remains a criminal act, a vestige of the way American law has anchored legitimate sexually activity within marriage.
In Idaho,Massachusetts, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wisconsin it is a felony.
As far as the sodomy laws, I didn't realize the court had actually overturned an earlier 1960ish ruling ( something they rarely do ) and in 2003 had reveresed an earlier ruling ( SCOTUS ) that ultimately. got rid of the laws of sodomy in the last 14 states.
SO I AM RIGHT ONLY 99.8 PERCENT OF THE TIME.
DEAL WITH IT.......
