I think we could probably start with guaranteed contraceptive coverage in all health plans. Sorta like we get guaranteed air bags in all cars. We didn't used to. But its a good thing.

The poor get free contraception. Why the hell do you guys not comprehend this? The people on private insurance aren't the ones bleeding the system dry. And BC pills can be had for less than $20/month or less. FACT.

You give some of these morons too much credit. You need to watch Maury Povich about once a month. You'll see that they don't even know who daddy is. Birth control isn't even in the equation.

Not free birth control.

That may be true in some places but it isn't universal. It also doesn't include the cost of a doctor visit. You know birth control is a prescription drug, right?

Dude stop it with the birth control. You actually think, given the opportunity, low income women would opt for it?

Medicaid covers it. Here they can go to the health dept for FREE and get BC for FREE even without any insurance.
So, there is no reason for anyone in Arkansas should get pregnant due to lack of access to birth control. But they will do it to get some checks.

Seems to have become a way of making a living in the USA these days. Some people say education is the key. Seems if our government required some type of work for the assistance then it might help change some of this behavior but I will not hold my breath for this to happen.

Charity hospitals have free clinics. We do.

And Walmart sells OCPs for $9/month. That is everywhere there is a Walmart, except in North Dakota. Not sure why North Dakota though.

why does this exact same thread come up every month?

Because it is a very real problem that for some reason the left refuses to acknowledge, yet less try to come up with an effective solution.

I have a solution no one has mentioned.

How about financial ramifications for the baby daddy's?

Once a child is added to the welfare roles, the state goes after the man listed as the father on the birth certificate for financial support using the same model of family court ordered child support.

Establish consequences for these assholes, make them pay for their kids instead of society and there will be more pulling out.

How would we make sure they honor such a deal and make sure there's no loopholes that they could use to get around this?
