Yup, I thought they were stupid when she said she was running. She was a one trick pony. Texas stays red.

I would normally agree with this statement, but check out the comments on the HuffingtonPost regarding this situation: LINK

I have a feeling a lot of liberals are going to be wasting their money on her campaign.

Wow, that spin from Think Progress is insane

While these personal details would be hardly a blip on a male candidate’s record

Yeah, Newt is the closest analogy and nobody ever heard anything about his personal life. John Kerry was never accused of being a gigolo. John Edwards is still a political star in spite of cheating on his cancer-stricken wife. Herman Cain survived the sexual harassment allegations without a scratch.

Don't bother with think progress...that site is as bad as any that are out there. Those people are from the land of the lost.

She won't withdraw. She has money pouring in from out of state supporters who defend everything that comes out about her. She won't win the election, but she is being propped up pretty hard.

And she also has that Harvard Law School thing going for her, and we all know that an Ivy League pedigree has almost become a prerequisite for reaching the highest echelons of government in the U.S.

As for as I know, Kerry was never accused of being a serial adulterer, and the gigolo charge is very weak, and I'm sure John McCain would agree.

Now I know you've lost your mind because Edwards couldn't get elected dog catcher.

I don't know where you're going with this since Cain is a Republican.

I'm pretty sure the poster you were responding to was being sarcastic. Personal failings sink candidates. This was certainly the case with Newt, Weiner, John Edwards, and Herman Cain. This is not a partisan issue, Americans as a whole want to trust their politicians.

There are a few obvious exceptions where political talent can overcome personal failings, but Wendy Davis is no Bill Clinton.

Davis may not be in Clinton's class when it comes to political talent, but she's not in his class when it comes to personal failings either, and she certainly has at least as much talent as David Vitter and Mark Sanford, without their personal baggage.

That is highly debatable simply if for no other reason that they reside in states that are more closely aligned with their ideology.

The two of them also apologized for their mistakes, while she just reverted to blaming the mean paraplegic.

She brings nothing to her candidacy but her fabricated personal story & her liberal backing for a pro-choice candidate in Texas. She didn't do much with that Harvard law degree her husband paid for. She worked at a firm and worked for the same ex-husband's title company.

Greg Abbott is Attorney General in Texas, was on the Tx Supreme Court and was a state trial judge. He was also an adjunct professor at UT School of Law.

His wife is Hispanic and is from San Antonio. He also overcame some real struggles when he became a paraplegic and is still in a wheelchair.

Wendy Davis isn't even close to competitive qualification wise without the personal baggage. That's why she ran on the bs personal narrative to begin with.

Yeah, Sanford is so sorry for his affair that he left his wife for his mistress.

Not surprisingly, you are missing the point.

Sanford went from Governor to Congressman, which is a huge demotion. She is looking to move up from State Senator to Governor in the wake of this controversy.

Would a politically talented individual respond to these allegations by saying her opponent has never walked in her shoes when her opponent cannot walk? No. She had no future in politics, she would not be reelected to her current position.

Let me get this straight Sparty, in this thread you and others are attacking Davis for alleged use of illegal drugs and at the same time you and others here are in another thread celebrating Christie advocating legalizing drugs.

Duplicitous, you have found a home.

Many people who advocate doing away with the war on drugs don't advocate people using drugs. It's not that difficult.
