Was Malaysia Arlines flight MH370 a terrorist attack?

We're not used to hearing about anti-Chinese terrorists, but I think it was just last week that a Chinese terrorist group went on a knifing rampage killing 30 people and wounding over 100. I doubt that Al Qaeda type would target a plane that only had three Americans on it.

I thought of that immediately too. But who knows if that have that level of sophistication. We know Al Qaeda does. But who's to say at this point. It's just very sad.

That leaves only 51-yr old Philip Wood as a potential American target. The The Asian-based IBM employee is not likely of interest to anyone with bad intentions (unless one watches too many spy movies).

If they blew it up - you would think there would be a visible debris field.
If they overtook the planes controls, you'd think there would have been some sort of communication before/during/after the incursion.
Tis a puzzlement how it went off the radar and left no trace other than an oil slick. Sounds like it went headfirst into the ocean - without ever making a communication to the ground.

Possibly, but there should be some sort of manual backup to allow a controlled descent.
