Yeah. The overriding belief is the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.

I tend to subscribe to the opposite strategy - re-elect no one.

People vote for the familiar name. And yeah, it is lazy.

Name recognition and the almost insurmountable incumbent advantage over challengers that comes with it.

Because that would require me voting in a Democrat. Have you even contemplated the two party raping of America?

Apathy plain and simple. The D.C. Swamp thrives on American apathy. Nothing will change in DC until congressional term limits and strict lobby reform are enacted, that's a fact!

Because the ruling class generally always controls the Republican and Democrat choices and it’s almost always a choice of the lesser of two evils.

At least with term limits we’d get a new choice for the lesser of two evils. And...

....and K Street lobbyists should have a more difficult time of capturing congress. Which translates into more representation for you and less for the lobbyists.

Why wouldn’t you want that?

Incumbents have huge built in advantages.

They get way more media attention and have name recognition.

Since they are in power they also have huge fund raising advantages.

They also help set the rules of the game they are about to play.

Term limits are overall a good thing because people serving in the same office for decades are always corrupt and are being re-elected not because of merit

Cause stupid.

Term limits won’t solve the problem.

It’s the life long beaurocrats that are the problem.

Actually it's both. There should be tenure limits on upper level bureaucrats too. These entrenched bureaucrats and their Swamper friends who've been in congress for 20-30-40 years have mutual interest. Their interests are not the interests of the American people.

Term limits would also disincentivize a buncha scummy leeches from seeking public office. Right now all these people running for congress know if they get in there's a great opportunity to cash in on that Swamp money.

Voters could also exercise initiative and self-determination when they find themselves unemployed.... So why don't they...
