Transgenders can serve in the military, they just don't get to choose their gender within the military ranks and thus governing instruction.
Transgender just means identifying with a different gender than birth gender, or biological sex.
You can consider yourself a fricking dolphin for all I care, but if you have a dick, balls, and a mans testorone/estrogen ratio just sleep in the male berthing/barracks and piss in the male bathroom. You can't sleep with the women, and no there will be not separate dolphin accommodations and regulations to make your stay more comfortable either.
This is about streamlining a large government entity rather than creating subgroups and additional training and facility requirements to cater to a state of mind.
This isn't even mentioning all the medical costs and time on limited duty status that comes with transition treatment. The military isn't here as a tool to facilitate everyone's desired anatomical alterations and treatments, it's here to defend the American people and their interests

I agree with you! Again, most of the ones posting on here are/were too chicken shite to enlist in the miltary. Yet, they are the first to babble off citing their two cents yelling about their tax dollars and prob don't even work.

I've never been in the service, much less in war, but I think its a fallacy to equate one specific situation like you did and extrapolate it to thousands of people in thousands of situations. As a manager you cannot forsee and prevent every situation and scenario but you can certainly mitigate certain situations from becoming reoccurring problems. Its why companies and governments perform drug test and background checks. Will it prevent every issue? No. Will it potentially prevent qualified people from filling that role? Yes. But in the aggregate it will mitigate more potential issues and allow for a greater number of candidates to succeed.
keep in mind that for every wackadoodle that you allow in, you are keeping a more qualified candidate on the sidelines.

Can someone explain why the simplest answer isn't a pure meritocracy with this?
Set baseline standards that are truly applicable for roles and either a person meets the standards or does not, regardless of gender. That includes physical, intelligence and mental health tests along the way.

So, give someone who is all hopped up on hormones access to weapons and ammo and lets see how the this experiment turns out?
If they want to serve, I am all for it... they can serve in the factories that send supplies to troops. There are plenty of ways to serve the US and not be issued a weapon.
