Sessions has been a huge disaster.
On top of the enabling tax payer funded oppo research for the democrats against Trump led by Mueller, he's a huge War on Drugs dinosaur and an authoritarian with asset forfeiture and looked like a pig in slop announcing it the other day.

But hey when Sessions does something ethical, even if unnecessary, and Trump thinks it harmed himself, he throws him under the bus and accuses him of dishonesty and incompetence.
If people don't find the juxtaposition of these two things at least troubling then it's scary to think how far Trump would have go for people to find something troubling.
