This is actually politically brilliant. So basically Trump just allowed a top advisor who disagrees with Romney to go public and voice those concerns. His way of telling the base that he hears what they are saying. Not saying he will not still select Romney, but his simply is not letting the media define the reality. Very atypical and brilliant move.
Also gives him the opportunity to gauge reactions from both sides.

I really think Trump should go with Khalilzad. But it doesn't sound like that's happening.
Beyond that, I think Mitt's a good choice. Politics are about coalition-building. If Trump chooses someone who differs with him on some issues like Russia and was a critic of his, that speaks well of Trump that he's broad-minded enough to do that.

Kellyanne Conway will not be a member of the Trump Administration for much longer.
Mitt Romney will be leading the State Department in 2017.
That's just the reality. Jared Kushner is slowly pushing Kellyanne out of the revolving doors at Trump Tower. That is happening.
Looks like a bunch of fake news to me.

If Trump (a) picks Romney, and (b) his Justice Dept. doesn't pursue its investigation of Clinton, let's see how quickly Hannity jumps off the train. We was quite upbeat last night, but it was obvious these two events would make him very unhappy.
