You are all Debbie Downish on Trumps cabinet. I get you but to be fair if Trump hired nobody outsiders he would be criticized. Who's he apose to pick? Who would you appoint as President Mister Carton's cabinet?

The anti-Mitt people need to get a grip on something -- he's the most honest, hard-working pick when compared to the General who boned his biographer and leaked classified info like Hillary or Mayor McLisp.

Sorry, that's just how it is.

For the love of god, stop with the Romney shite. There are so many other options.

Not really; the list of people that have a complete understanding of world affairs is fairly small.

Exactly. The list is fairly small. It's Petraeus or Romney. Corker as a dark horse.

McLisp will be Homeland Security or maybe he'll quit because he didn't get the job he lobbied for publicly. Maybe he and Newt and Mike Huckabee and Kellyanne will start their own club of Trump Rejects.

Part of me thinks that Trump is just making Mitt run through the paces to get his hopes up, only to dump him at the last minute.

This is actually politically brilliant. So basically Trump just allowed a top advisor who disagrees with Romney to go public and voice those concerns. His way of telling the base that he hears what they are saying. Not saying he will not still select Romney, but his simply is not letting the media define the reality. Very atypical and brilliant move.

2 others not mentioned in this thread are Cruz & John Bolton. Of these 5 Bolton is probably the best candidate (resume wise) but I don't like him for some reason.

I like Petreus fine, but anyone who claims he can be SecState without Trump showing astronomical amounts of hypocrisy is delusional.

To think Trump has these Machiavellian ideas is so very much like a conspiracy that this board would adhere to as if true.

I know he is needed where he is at but Rand Paul as SOS would be refreshing. Or Treasury sec.

I think Rand would be wasted at State because he's his own guy. Someone like Romney can bring some influence but ultimately act as an ambassador for the administration, which is what Trump is looking for, I think.

I like Rand and would like him in pretty much any role, but I don't want his mind and skills wasted on being the voice of an administration he probably doesn't agree with on a lot of things.
