What were these lies I fell for? Please expand. I think it's morelikely that yourself and the media continues to fall for the troll. My hopes is this continues for at least 5 years. That way when it turns, and talk starts about a tax increase, you can't retroactively take my money away from the past eight years.

Trump is referring to him stopping use of that campaign phrase. He will still be draining the swamp." He has outlined his ethics reform plan for Washington and looks to implement it. Misleading title and embarrassing OP

Tell me more about shitlery's lies. Tell me more about the DNC being rigged. Tell me more about how the blatant sexism and racism put out by the left isn't a massive hypocrisy?

I'm waiting. Boy.

We're going to drain the swamp... of corruption. Funny how that term caught on, isn't it? I told... I tell everyone-- I hated it. Somebody said, "drain the swamp." I said, "Oh, that's so hokey. That is so terrible. I said, "All right, I'll try it'." So, like a month ago, I said, "drain the swamp." Place went crazy. I said, "Whoa. What's this?" Then I said it again. Then I started saying it like I meant it, right? "

One of the sports talk show hosts here in San Antonio hit the nail on the head awhile back. He's a native New Yorker, as liberal as they come. Started a segment at the end of every show called "What The Hell Did Donald Trump Say Today?" back in the summer of 2015 because, as he put it, Trump captures people's attention through the media and holds it because he speaks in sound bites. His messages are concise and easily relatable/repeatable. It was a help to him on the campaign trail since he's not a seasoned politician and such a speaking strategy gave him solid baselines. It worked doubly well because the audiences were able to articulate his basic messages on a broad scale.

Gingrich told NPR's "Morning Edition" that HE WAS TOLD Trump “now says [the phrase] was cute, but he doesn’t want to use it anymore.”

Gingrich, who has been a close adviser to Trump, said he likes "drain the swamp" because it “vividly illustrates the problem, because all people in this city who are the alligators are going to hate the swamp being drained.”

“But, you know, he is my leader, and IF he decides to drop the swamp and the alligator I will drop the swamp and the alligator,” he said.

Gingrich also said he’d noticed Trump’s change in attitude toward his supporters chanting “lock her up” at his post-election rallies, referring to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
MAYBE he feels that, as president, as the next president of the United States, that he should be marginally more dignified than talking about alligators in swamps,” Gingrich said.

Trump isn't interested in governing, it's that simple. Promises he made won't come to fruition because he does not have the interest in doing the hard work of governing and legislating to see them through.

His presidency will be almost entirely symbolic. What does he like? To give speeches to adoring crowds. That's pretty much it, and I will bet anyone that those rallies continue.

There always was a huge disconnect between what was possible and what Trump said he'd do, now there will be a similar gulf between what he says in speeches and what legislation actually results. He isn't draining the swamp, his lack of oversight is empowering it. This is an amazing opportunity for Republican leadership, and they are going to take full advantage of it, much to the detriment of many of the people Trump purports to represent.

How did we get played? You lost!

Hillary isn't in office. Jeb isn't in office. Trump could smoke cigars in the oval all day watching Apprentice reruns and it would be a win.

But keep on melting and claiming faux victories.

No. Trump likes business.

Clinton liked speeches.

Your premise is flawed.

It's not a premise, it's fact. His campaign was structured this way. He told his advisors "I like giving speeches" and they put him out there to do that. He has continued to do it post-election.

See what you just said is pure speculation. Now, if you change the name trump, to the name Obama, it is no longer speculation.... It is fact.

I always to "drain the swamp" to mean getting rid of Clinton influence in DC. We're well on our way.

So the lobbying revolving door, soft money campaign contributions, nepotism, and crony capitalism are fine if it's under a Republican banner?

Liberals are fantasizing everyday about trump voters having regrets, but it just hasn't happened. The only people who got played are the ones who bought into hope and change and the MSM's prediction of a Hillary landslide. Sorry folks.

And voting for what's an Aleppo Johnson? That's even more embarrassing than Hillary.
