Thanks.

That is essentially what President Trump said to Kim Jong Un.

Completely ahistorical.

You are poorly informed on the Kennedy's and the Kennedy presidency.

Spend some time reading the actual text of memos orders and listen to the Whitehouse recordings from the Kennedy administration.

All of it is declassified now.

Camelot is a lie/facade. Kennedy was a worthless piece of shite just like all of his other family members.

Cuba 100 miles to US mainland and NK 6,000 miles from the US mainland.

Two of the US allies cities:
Seoul metro around population 26 million

Tokyo metro population around 37 million

Both cities could be bombed by NK in about 5 to 10 minutes

Trump is dealing with a crazy person

JFK was dealing with Russia not Cuba and Russia knew both countries would be bombed off the map not our allies

The Russians had and the North Koreans have missiles armed with a nuclear bomb that they have both threatened to hit the mainland USA with.

The Russians had to be publicly confronted in no uncertain terms by JFK to let them know they better not use those missiles or else we will retaliate immediately.

The North Koreans had to be publicly confronted in no uncertain terms by President Trump to let them know they better not use those missiles or else we will retaliate immediately.

You claim Kim Jong Un is crazy so he won't heed the warning.

Are you claiming the USA has to wait until one of North Korea's missiles actually kills millions of people before we can do anything militarily just because their leader is crazy?

Two comments I saw on a NYT article that I found interesting. There's no right answer in this unfortunately. If we pursue diplomacy now will that make a war inevitable and more costly later on?

quote:

What Trump fails to realize is how destabilizing his comments are and a first strike against North Korea could send the world economy into a tailspin not to mention the significant loss of life on both sides. China is already pushing back on the US for challenging it's sovereign claim to the fabricated islands in the South China sea, so he shouldn't count on too much help from China if he attacks NK. It's time for Trump to step back, be silent and let his people handle diplomatic negotiations. Our military option won't go away, but the opportunity to peacefully resolve this situation has an expiration date.

quote:

I don't think anyone likes the idea of a war with North Korea (if they attacked Seoul the death toll would potentially reach the hundreds of thousands), but do you want to fight this war now, or 20 years down the road when their military is 5x as strong and more technologically advanced?

Kim Jung Un is a wicked man whose regime has committed countless crimes against humanity. Do you think his threats will end if we simply allow him to develop his military unabated? Do you think he will play fairly if we allow him a seat at the "big boy table"? Do you think he is happy with the current sanctions imposed on his country? Do you think he is happy that a US-backed South Korea borders his country?

He knows he is currently outgunned, and that is why he's doing nothing more than running his mouth, but the moment feels he his military could actually win a war against South Korea, he will invade no doubt about it. That is what we are looking at 20 years down the road.

It's a sad, sad situation that should have been dealt with 15 years ago... and since it wasn't, a lot more people are going to die when this comes to a head...

Not to hijack the thread, but you seem informed on JFK's Presidency. I was wondering what you thought of his EO 11110.

Brass balls or simple ignorance?....Or somewhere in between?

Exactly how long do you think that took?

Hint: Not long.

It doesn't matter how long it took you to do it.

All that matters is I made you do it.
