He said that NATO was obsolete because the US was carrying all of the burden. If the other member nations are starting to pull their weight, then NATO is no longer obsolete. This is very much in alignment with Trump's insistence on "America first". We cannot be the sole member of the world that keeps others safe at our own financial expense.
