Just Yesterday Trump said there was a line of CEOs just waiting to replace the ones quitting the Manufacturing Council.

quote:

Donald J. Trump? @realDonaldTrump Aug 15 More For every CEO that drops out of the Manufacturing Council, I have many to take their place. Grandstanders should not have gone on. JOBS!

I guess that was fake news because Trump just announced the council was ending.

quote:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 17m17 minutes ago More Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!

I'm not sure if he thinks businesspeople is supposed to be one word on not. May be a typo.

Pros: Trump acknowledged people were under pressure because of him

Cons: He quite truly raced to Twitter to officially disband something that was already being disbanded without his involvement.

He couldn't take the embarrassment of seeing them quit one by one.

Will all these CEO's companies be "distancing themselves" from any current or future federal government contracts as long as Trump is president, to stay consistent here?

I think what he was saying is that he has the ability to pressure them into staying but decided not to use it. Which is hilarious if he thinks that.

I was giving him benefit of the doubt, sort of "instead of keeping it running such that the CEOs would get outside pressure about being involved"

I'm struggling to find the logical contradiction that must have led you to use the phrase "fake news".

Is this where we highlight the great stock market, then criticize the companies that make up a large portion of that market?

You got him this time, Haughton. This will surely cause his demise now...
