I am impressed that Trump was able to hold off on the tax issue throughout the campaign. Normally, the media pushes until the person releases.

I know that he had a reasonable argument for not releasing them; however, it was another impressive move to hold the line and not bend to the pressure of the media.

Advice from a lawyer is not bullshite. Maybe they really were hiding something and in the hands of every Tom, Dick, and Harry they would be busted. The advice is not bullshite, but the idea there was some shady shite isn't.

There's no law that says he has to 'release' them.

I wish he would have released them on the 9th just to dig the knife in.

I guess we can agree that it is probably as much bullshite as this being any sort of legitimate issue that voters cared about in general.

I'd rather he release his returns but I ultimately really don't care. Just saying the excuse that he couldn't release his 2015 returns was obviously bullshite, even if he got Michael Cohen to say it.

First it was because he was under an IRS audit. Then the IRS gave him the okay to release the tax returns. So that's the excuse now? His lawyers?

Couldn't possibly be that he's not worth nearly what he purports...

Never said it was a top issue and I don't care if he releases them or not.

Why does anyone really care about his tax returns? As long as he isn't committing tax evasion or fraud, it should not matter how much he pays in taxes.

I never understood the backlash that he received for his "because I'm smart" comment in regards to how little taxes he pays.

So,according to you he should take his advice from the IRS instead of his lawyers?

What good could have come out of him releasing them? The narrative would have been either his taxable income is so high that he's rich enough to be hated (ignore the Hillary hypocrisy) or so low that he's not as rich as he's pretending and a fraud (ignore people who actually understand tax returns). Pick your poison.

It was a no win and he held the line.

That was his excuse in the beginning... that the IRS wouldn't allow it. Then when they did, all of a sudden it was his lawyers.
