I'm shocked. Shocked.

So, only white people are bad? Poor black people you will fall on the sword for, but a poor white person you're ok with shoving them aside? Typical.

I'd have to agree with this.

I get that, but the state should be intervening if the city has been unable to resolve this problem. When a municipality suffers a severe crisis like a flood, the state doesn't just sick back and say "It's your problem."

How did Obama not remedy this crisis before leaving office? The stimulus package? millions if not billions were allocated for infrastructure projects. Where did that money go?

This is insane honestly. We have Americans who cannot drink clean water in their daily life, a basic necessity. Yet, we will send $221 Million to Palestine. Stop sending money to other countries and take care of our damned citizens!

Really....???? Billions went into the hands of Obama cronies....do you not remember that dick face Obama coyly telling the American people..."well, maybe the jobs weren't really shovel ready..."

Okay I see your point. But, a flood is an unexpected emergency. While I am not dismissing this emergency, they saw this coming (infrastructure and other funding should have been allocated for something this important). Much more of an issues to neglect a future problem than to have one thrown upon you.

I'm shocked that Trump hasn't had the feds move into this already. This needs to be fixed. If the city of Flint or the state of Michigan can't get it done send in the feds, there's no damn reason why an entire city need go a month let alone years without drinkable water.

But good news, the House of Representatives is taking another well earned vacation starting tomorrow.

I feel like this would make for a great lawsuit.

The article contradicts itself:

The water crisis in Flint, Michigan, is entering its fourth year, and residents are still a long way away from having potable tap water.

A couple of paragraphs down it says:
Today, drinking water in Flint is in compliance with federal regulations, but local officials have not announced it's safe to drink. Many residents still don't use the water and oppose paying for the utility.

so, what is the truth? Is it potable, or not?

Not sure how they would be foreclosed. All the city can do is put a lien on the home, and when they sell, collect the money, or cut the water off. The lender is the one who would foreclose because of lack of payment on the mortgage. As long as they are paying the mortgage there would be no risk of foreclosure.

Which is why Trump should have the EPA there, and announce once and for all, is the water safe to drink? I sure wouldn't take the city's word for it at this point.

Valid point, but didn't we criticize Obama for getting into local matters when he was in office? (I know I did)

No doubt something needs to be done, but it certainly points to how corrupt Flint officials are, and Michigan officials for not stepping in to correct this. It's a dangerous precedent to set to step in every time a local problem erupts. (I realize this is an extreme thing going on, but it should be handled at the local and state level.) Is there legal standing for Trump to get involved? I honestly don't know.

He has. Both he and Obama. Obama signed a bill late last year that authorized the EPA to upgrade water systems all across the country. It specifically allocated $100 million to Flint. That funding was release this past March.

The state intervened and caused this problem. The state has been thus far unable to fix the problem they caused.
