This board has convinced me that many posters cannot walk and chew gum

I don't see how you could possibly have legitimately formed that opinion by actually reading this board. Gtfo

i think the protestors are free to protest within their constitutional limits. i think the media is fueling a lot of the protests and creating issues for police. i think the media is symbolically "pushing" the police and then filming the reaction
i'm not an anarchist and the looters in ferguson is an amazing explanation of why i'm not an anarchist
i believe that we have to wait for more evidence of the shooting, but as of now, it looks like brown ran at the cop after a struggle, and the cop's story checks out. you can be against the militarization of police and still understand the fact that cops can protect themselves
So much sanity in such a few sentences.

1. Brown smoked pot that day

I think either is irrelevant tbh,
Why would that be irrelevant? If someone were drunk driving and killed someone, that wouldn't be relevant either?
It's an indication of their state of mind.

1) Drunk =/= high
2) Weed in system =/= high at the time of altercation

I came here expecting many on the board to be complaining and criticizing the big-government overreach and police-state tactics on full display in Ferguson.
Seems like Ferguson was actually doing the worst when the smaller, local government was in charge of things - and when the larger state government took over security, things got a little better. Of course the tactics of each were vastly different. This might suggest it was actually what the police were doing that was the more relevant factor - and not the size of the government that they worked for. I know that's a revolutionary thought - let it sink in.

I feel like the media has spun this out of control into a race issue

Instead, CNN, MSNBC, and the other race baiters (Sharpton, et al) have turned it into a circus.

Are you going to attempt to defend your post?
Be honest, how upset are you that he WASN'T shot in the back?

Sorry. I've had a busy day I didn't intend to drive by. I can't respond to everyone, but I will respond to you.

I didn't really know the circumstances of the shooting until after the autopsy came back. I didn't have expectations. What I've gathered from what I read is that a) brown was shot from a distance and b) his body laid in the street for 4 hours and c) he was unarmed.

What if I told you that a possible scenario was that Micheal Brown charged the officer? Should the officer have the right to protect his own well-being?
I know a lot of us jumped to conclusions. My first reaction was that the police are out of control, but I've bitten my tongue on saying it on a public forum. I'm glad I did. As more evidence comes forward, it's becoming clearer by the minute that the officer's story is very plausible.

I believe it is plausible, and of course he should have a right to protect himself. However, there's no excuse for not immediately reporting that you had just shot and killed a man in self defense. As an officer of the law and a human being that is his responsibility.

There has been thuggery by the black folks (no surprise there) jackbooted law enforcement (same ole' same ole') shitty reporting (as expected).
And while watching this shite-fest on TV from the comfort of my home in Japan, my wife asked me, "aren't you glad we don't live there anymore?" And I smiled and said, "Very glad."

And yet, apparently there isn't anything quite as fascinating as the TD poli board in Japan because you can't stay away. Why don't you go play with your Samurai sword instead?
