Lengthy presentation by Stefan Molyneux

I've been looking forward to this for a while. It's 3.5 hours, but you can download the podcast at fdrpodcast.com. I'll be listening to it tonight so I'll give a synopsis later

The truth is that those folks were communist and we should have rounded their asses up and got them out of the country. If we would have all this shite right now would not be happening.

Some people were sent to prison simply for having a belief in Communism. Essentially, they were political prisoners. The US basically shite on the constitution.

If you believe in communism you are an enemy. Communism is not compatible with the founding of this country. That whole part about Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness conflicts with Communism.

Someone should tell libs that if Obama cared more about Russia during his presidency instead of thinking the cold war was over... maybe they wouldn't have this problem now.
This is absolutely true; the Romney debate comment probably sums up his political opportunistic mentality better than anything.

HOWEVER, I do find the oppositions disproportionate reaction to his new stance on Russia by some to he a bit hypocritical too (i.e., the positive representation of them).

Romney was right, but just because Obama hackishly ended up with a more "right" view doesn't mean we need to take the opposite stance of him. Calling out hypocrisy is warranted, if not necessary; taking the complete opposite stance isn't.

It does, yet it may be a bit paradoxical, but the whole concept of liberty necessitates people to be able to hold an irrational view like communism.

Criticize the irrationality of it with the multitude of evidence against it, but forcefully purging those views from society is not consistent with the basis of liberty and freedom.

Hell, even John Brennan was a self-admitted card carrying member of the Communist Party in the 1980s.

There were belief crimes? Care to cite the statute used to prosecute them? Is espionage one of these belief crimes?

Are you claiming there were convictions built on flimsy evidence?

There is a great set of pamphlets that the JBL put out in 1962. I was lucky enough to find a complete set in an antique book store some years ago. I highly recommend it (the entire set) to anyone reading this.

https://www.amazon.com/One-Dozen-Candles-Americanist-Library/dp/B000B8JCZA

It explains exactly how we got to where we are today ... because it warned us about it in 1962. The little series is prophetic.

Makes for a great party topic when you have guests over for dinner and drinks. You'll be pulling pamphlets out and showing them off on every modern day subject discussed today.

McCarthy wrote "America's Retreat From Victory." Took me three nights to read all dozen pamphlets.

Too bad more Americans were not willing to use these booklets as candles to light our way in the 50s and 60s ... we'd be in far less trouble now.

I promise you ... read those booklets and you will be left in absolute amazement. They called it all from the problems with China to the far left wing takeover of our government and education system as well as Hollywood and TV, especially the journalists with the networks and the newspapers, to the problems with the SCOTUS (and the dangers of women Justices) in Nine Men Against America, ... to the problems with surveillance and government and tech intrusion on our lives. It all starts with Background to Betrayal.

When you are reading those booklets you will be shocked ... written in 1962, they warned us but we didn't listen.

You do realize these people were imprisoned before McCarthy started his war against the State Department, right? They were imprisoned based on a law passed by Democrats and questioned in the House by anti-Communists such as John F. Kennedy. McCarthy was a Senator.
