Feinstein introducing bill to ban the sale, of bump stocks, trigger cranks that accelerate a semi-automatic rifle’s rate of fire

The ONLY reason a bumpfire stock helped in this situation was because of the massed targets, usually full auto fire or bump fire isn't actually going to help a body count.
also, you can bumpfire with just your hands.

Sen. Feinstein introduces bill to ban hands.

Banning this wouldn't be a big deal to me personally, but I know it won't end at this.
The goal is confiscation, so things like this must be opposed simply because giving them a victory here adds to their momemtum.

Going to be interesting to see how exactly this is defended by the NRA. Full autos are heavily restricted. These devices are specifically made to make semi's function similarly to full auto as far as rate of fire goes. Kinda hard to defend in the context of current law.

True, I've seen YouTube vids of dudes shooting AR-15s unloading 30 rounds in less than 10 seconds.
I thought we would see a push to limit him many rounds in a clip, I'm sure that's next

Bump Stocks
Another flashy, scary word that brain dead liberal vote bots can latch onto that is almost meaningless and not even a part of the problem.

Thank God, because no bump stocks will mean no one will be murdered to death by guns ever again.

Next thing you know they will ban murder.....oh wait......
One thing these idiots don't seem to comprehend is that criminals, by definition, don't follow laws.

Bump Stocks are dumb and wanting to ban them is even dumber.

That's what I was thinking. Using the way you hold the gun to bumpfire isn't going to be useful unless it is a spray and pray situation like what the shooter had in Vegas.

The problem I have is creating legislation as an emotional response. Especially coming from Diane Feinstein, she is an absolute loon when it comes to banning things on firearms.

So what would change in this situation? He would have thought to himself “damn, it’s illegal for me to use a bump stock to commit mass murder, guess I’ll find something else to do today”? Or would he have though, “well, I guess mass murder is bad enough, I wouldn’t want to run amiss of Feinstein’s law against bump stocks, better not use them”?

Well, to start you wouldnt be able to buy a device that approximates a fully auto weapon down at Cabelas so maybe he doesnt go through the trouble or attempting to acquire one on the black market and tries to aim his shots or spray semi-auto. It seems likely that having that device enabled him to injure/kill more people since, as stated above, the crowd was densely massed making full auto a good choice for max damage. Or maybe he builds a bomb. Who knows.
This obviously wouldnt have stopped him from carrying out the attack.

Understandable. I get people who think these devices and even full auto weapons themselves should be legal. My interest is the defense of devices specifically manufactured to turn semi-auto(legal) weapons into what are essentially fully auto(illegal) weapons within the context of current law. Seems like a tough sell.

The defense is that the laws regulating actual full auto weapons are pointless. Without those bull shite laws, you don't have people figuring out ways around them. If you ban bump fire stocks, someone will figure out a way around those.
Or... We could have freedom and liberty.
