Others would seem to disagree with your opinion. We can all agree that the ACA certainly hasn't raised the cost of healthcare to the point that it's increased bankruptcies, which puts the lie to many of your claims on here

We know the ACA add to the costs of doing business. Do we know how many went bankrupt because of the added costs? Do we know how many elected to close because they couldn't afford the added costs? No we don't, but we can speculate that there were some who did go bankrupt, and some who did close because they couldn't turn a profit because of extra costs.

Come on, you know the answer.

You didn't read the article. Why not?

Because from looking at the graph you posted, it was easy to ascertain it was a half arse article that took one point in time and tried to make it the driving force for a much larger problem.

I'd bet that you could take a graph of bankruptcies immediately after the great depression, pick out an event such as FDR's laws taking the US off the gold standard, and use that to credit FDR with declining bankruptcies.

And they would NEVER pass that cost on to other consumers in the form of higher prices.
Well, according to you people that can't pay never even seek treatment, so... there is nothing to pass on.

Something about correlation and causation.

In all fairness, thats probably accurate due to people jumping in a pool to drown themselves after being subjected to a Nick Cage movie.

why does this chart start at 2009

Because the ACA was passed in 2010.

And your chart clearly shows bankruptcies were declining before ObamaCare was implemented.

That and,

Did you know that all cancer victims have ingested di-hydrogen monoxide at some time in their lives?

During the time the ACA has been law neither the Saints nor LSU has won a national title. Charts show this. Get rid of the ACA!

Not reading your BS. I'm sure it did help because other financially responsible people have to pay for these dumbasses. You aren't too bright if you think this is a success story. And obviously, you are not one that is paying the bill.

So, correlation = causation now? Good to know.

This has more to do with the economy than trying to correlate bankruptcies and the ACA.

It's just a coincidence bankruptcies started declining in 2010 at the height of the recession?

why does this chart start at 2009, the year that people started filing bankruptcies following the crash of 2008?

The intellectual dishonesty of these twats is astounding

I'm sure it was the ACA, not the slowing of filings following a massive downturn

Go ask a bankruptcy attorney which contributed more.

The many experts we interviewed also pointed to two other contributing factors: an improving economy and changes to bankruptcy laws in 2005 that made it more difficult and costly to file. However, they almost all agreed that expanded health coverage played a major role in the marked, recent decline.

It's a great opinion piece, one that fits your narrative. Thanks for posting.

2nd paragraph:

"courts never ask people to declare why they're filing"

Meaning that everything after that sentence is a theory.
