JaMarcus would have been fine except he had no drive for excellence. He had a drive for money and purple drank. Once he got the signing bonus it was time for purple drank, not Super Bowls.

There is no equivalance if human trafficking which is slavery, compared to prostitution and child labor.

You are conflating things which are highly illegal with government intervention in a legal marketplace. Murder for hire could be a legitimate market...but no civil society would allow it. Murder being illegal isnt government intervention in free market, just like having human trafficking, prostitution, and child labor illegal isnt.

You think you are clever by comparing government meddling in a market with a government making illegal horrible things.

It seems you think that the government should step in and penalize a private organization for not hiring a qualified applicant based off of that applicants political beliefs. Thank God we are voting out people like you.

The Tides are turning. People are getting "woke" and are realizing. "WHy the frick am I paying $100 to go watch some a-hole who hates me throw a football around?" or "Why would I go spend $40 to watch that jerk who wants to take my guns away's movie where he shoots everyone in sight?" etc etc.

The NFL's target audience is largely made up of people who at a minimum have family members who have served and or are serving in the military and to them/us that flag is more than a piece of cloth. That song is more than a song. The country is more than a group of people, and we're sick of being disrespected.

frick this a-hole, frick Kathy Griffin, frick Madonna, frick Johnny Depp, frick all of them. You hate me, you won't like my money much better.

The reason NFL is losing fans is oversaturation, too many commercials, and shitty teams that DGAF. Oh, and concussions and moms. If you are going for the live experience, there are much better values for the money than NFL games.

I am sure things CK don't help, but this isn't why the NFL is having a hard time.

This. These folks have forgotten they are little more than court jesters for the bourgeoisie. They aren't that important.

Then why is college viewership up?

"Oversaturation" - There are far more college teams, more college football games on tv, which culminates in a college bowl season which has a game on every single day for nearly 4 weeks. College games are on TV every Thursday night, Friday night, and ALL DAY on Saturday

"Too many commercials" - College football has far more commercials and the average college game is longer than the NFL games. Plus, college halftimes are 20 minutes long vs. the NFL halftime of 12 minutes which you know, gives college games more time for commercials.

"Shitty teams that DGAF" - There are far more shitty teams in college than the NFL. There are 32 NFL teams vs nearly 128 college Division 1 teams.

"Concussions and moms" - Yet there are still hundreds of thousands of high school kids playing football with hopes of continuing to do so in college. There isn't a shortage of players in the college football ranks.

Why Haven’t College Football Ratings Fallen Like the NFL’s?

I was just showing you that lots of bad things could happen in a free market. Why do feel the need to always make a personal jab in each of your replies? Could it be a defense mechanism? Just saying you should explore that emotional space that causes you to do that. In a debate it is actually a good idea to show some respect.

Do you think it is justified or is not fair that the NFL is banishing Colin for unpopular activism?

Yes.

He decided to protest the country itself. That pissed off a large number of the paying customers of the NFL. Obviously, that's something that any reasonable person would recognize as a problem for those running the business.

He could have been very active supporting whatever cause he wanted. He didn't do that. He decided to take a shot at the country itself (which was illogical and counter intuitive). This is the fallout.

It's both. What he brings to the table from a positive standpoint doesn't outweigh what he brings from a negative standpoint.

We are all looking to prove a point, but some of us don't recognize our own bias. We all are guilty of bias, some of us admit it and factor it into our self awareness and others are unaware and victim to our own prejudices. I aspire to have as accurate a picture of reality as is human possible. I fear being blind to the truth.

You might try to say you don't care but you care very much. That's why you reply. So you care. Why not just admit it. You care more than you would like to admit. We both care or we would not be posting in here.

Brother man..you're blind to the truth that this dude ticks off a large swath of his bosses customers..and he kinda sucks which makes it hard for him to get a job..it's simpler than you're making it. But as an Ole Miss grad in English I tip my cap to your writing skills.

So thanks for the kudos

Now I completely agree with you on face value. Yet I find it strange, maybe sad even, that a guy who isn't too far removed from chunking TDs in the Super Bowl can't even get a look as a backup.

Don't get me wrong you're probably right, but I just wonder if the NFL isn't sending him a message? This is one of those times where I think we all need to be more aware that taking a stand can be a very costly proposition. CK probably thought he would be banking for years to come too. One other lesson we guys need to learn is that a women can carry you to Hell in a hand basket if you let her.

This board never ceases to amaze. If the situation were reversed y'all would losing your minds over the "pc police" who are preventing someone from working in their field because they took an unpopular stance.
