Do you seriously think they would not mention the attendance was all they could accommodate if that were the case?

And you know they didn't mention that because????????

It is a newspaper article, it isn't a press release, right?

And it really doesn't matter one way or another. They could have 10,000 people at the rally and if they can't get 18,000 signatures it's over.

Making a big deal out of how many the restaurant holds, or how many tickets were available, etc. is just so much BS. It's about signatures on a petition and not a fundraiser.

It's an obvious attempt to put a negative spin on a successful fund raiser. That's all.

Then why are the SG supporters making such a big deal out of it?

St. George is the most transparent incorporation movement in history.

I saw an article in yesterday's paper. So what?

You started this thread, no SG supporter even commented on the article or the event.

All of this nonsense is on you, it's not like a SG supporter was trumpeting a big event.

You are the one playing dumb.

This thread is filled with SG supporters commenting on "the event." And they are especially shrill about defending the attendance number even to the point of making up stuff about the capacity of the venue. WTF are you talking about?

Could you please give me some examples of the SG incorporation's transparency compared to other incorporation efforts?

I may be wrong, but I think he was being sarcastic, but who knows?

Probably not to you. But I'd like to learn about the process.

The process is simple.

At the grassroots level people have been trying to start their own school district as Zachary and Central did. They have been rebuffed twice and were told a large reason for this is because they aren't a city.

Well these people are determined to start a school system so they decided to form a city.

They have been working to that end and started a petition drive.

They need a certain amount of signatures to hold an election of those in the proposed city. If an election is held the majority rules.

Are you up to speed now?

It matters to Russian. Everything related to SG matters to Russian. Everything related to the incorporation effort must be spun in a negative light.

Donated fundraiser at a nice restaurant=failure

10,000 petition signatures from an effort paid for out of concerned citizen's pockets=failure

Raise $18,000=failure

Not releasing signature number tallies when such a release isn't required in any way=failure

Volunteer signature drive slowing over the holidays=failure

Of course, a link will be requested for when he ever said, verbatim, anything in my summary above. Of course, that standard doesn't apply when Russian spins anything from the incorporation effort.

Get ready for 5 more pages in this thread, and who knows how many other threads, of tedious word parsing, failure declarations, and link requests!
