That's one thing I've noticed about all these special elections, the Republican candidates have been absolutely terrible, guess there was nobody good on deck.

Obama/McCain

Except the empty suit was the party hack then. The establishment guy was the "independent" wet dream and he got bent over with no lube.

There's still a lot of anti-establishment sentiment out there and Handel is about as establishment as you can get.

She has no charisma and is just a life long political hack. She generates no excitement at all from Republican voters.

Meanwhile the other guy is being propped up by tens of millions of dollars he never would have sniffed in his life it it weren't for rabid anti-Trump sentiment on the left.

Using this a barometer for 2018 is silly. Remember when a Republican won Ted Kennedy's seat in Massachusetts in a special election only to immediately lose it back?

Special elections produce weird results.

That was during the backlash from the Dems pushing an unpopular Obamacare bill through. That same backlash caused a massive republican wave election the next year that saw them pick up a historic number of seats (63).

I have no doubt the Democrats will pick up house seats in 2018, the enthusiasm gap favors them and historically speaking the party not int he white house gains in midterms. I doubt they retake the house though.

The won't make any progress in the Senate though as the map doesn't favor them, quite the opposite.

So yes, expect to see the Democrats win a handful of seats in the house in 2018.

This has been a deep red district for a long time and is a huge deal if it goes blue. No way to honestly minimize it. Price won by huge margins every time he ran.

Democrats have to make the most out of this if he does win. It's the only... only positive thing that they have had happen since Nov 8. 1 out of 1000+ national and local seats that have been lost over last 8 years..

Guess Dems will be putting their rally caps on..

It is not unusual here to see four political commercials on TV in a row. Pro Ossoff, anti Ossoff, pro Handel and anti Handel. Rinse and repeat. Handel has the same negative as Hildabeast. She's in it just for herself.

I live in GA 7.

Well, if the guy wins and don't just jump in a drink the Dem anti-Trump kool aid...if he ignores their pressure to become a ward of their 'plantation' and instead gets to work with Trump to solve real problems...he'll probably win the next time too. With my praise.

I suggest the Dems work with Trump like the Republicans worked with Obama. :doublebird: :doublebird:

Interesting. I was just reading today that early voting was looking surprisingly strong for Handel. We'll see, I guess. She is a terrible candidate but kudos to her for the drop the mic question she asked him in the debate about who was voting for in the race. Forcing him to again say he couldn't vote because he doesn't live in the district. Have seen that clip dozens of times on the news.

Yea,because the GOP is full of presedential candidates
that refer to NYC as "Hymietown" or had another President whose kid's Godfather referred to Isreal as a
"3 headed demon"

BTW you do know that Karen Handel is also Jewish, correct?

I know Karen Handel is Jewish, but it's irrelevant on this thread. Karen Handel will never have a national profile, like running for president, if fact she won't even win this congressional race

Are you delusional???Already talking about him as a Presidential candidate?

Do you know anything about the 6th district or what exactly he stands for or against?I've never seen a more
non committed milk toast candidate in my life.

If you think that I give a frick about what white people who live in the Atlanta suburbs want to have for their congressman, you are very sadly mistaken.
