So Jon Ossoff Is Going To Win

So says a friend of mine who is a successful political consultant that works for Ossoff's campaign.
I had coffee with him today. First met him back when we were both interns for the DOJ. He went on to be an Assistant AG in GA and a member of the General Assembly before moving into consulting. Good guy that I respect.
He said everything in their internal polling points to a win. Ossoff is especially killing Handel with women. Early voting and absentee all look strong for them. He's pleased with turnout thus far; looks good for their strong areas and bad for Handel areas.
Also, he said there is no unpredictable Trump effect this election. That is, a lot of people voted for Trump because they liked how he talked, how he took on opponents and the media, the idea that he was an outsider going against the establishment. Not the case here. Handel is boring, uncharismatic, and stale. She is a career politician. Ossoff is a political newcomer and has been successfully portrayed as being an independent.
I asked him to give me a percentage. He said that he was 99% sure that Ossoff would win. I asked him what his percentage on Hillary winning was. He said 75%. I was mostly confident but had a little concern...I have no concern here...Different election, different candidates, he said.
I guess we'll see.

That's why nothing can be gleaned from this election if the outcome you speak of occurs.
Runs a party hack against a fresh faced empty suit, you are asking for trouble.

Well no shite. He's a "cute kid" vs. someone that looks worse than them.
And they've spent now, what, $15M on a single congressional district?

Ossoff can't even vote in the election because he doesn't live in the district lol.

I would vote for a Democrat before a never trumper so I can believe this.

I agree that Ossoff will win

Pence in town today trying to give her a push.

Well, Osoff had millions of dollars on hand to burn against Handel. If he indeed wins, he's not going to get that same kind of money for the midterms next year as the DCCC and big donors are going to spread it everywhere.
Osoff had 11-15 million and best case for him is a 2 point win at best.

Ossoff is up by 7 in the most recent poll. I won't say that he'll win, but it's not going to be a result that gives national Republicans any kind of confidence going into midterms.

Well, if the guy wins and don't just jump in a drink the Dem anti-Trump kool aid...if he ignores their pressure to become a ward of their 'plantation' and instead gets to work with Trump to solve real problems...he'll probably win the next time too. With my praise.

Republicans have dumped buckets of money into the race too, this link says Dems have only seent $1 mil more than the GOP. The big difference being that Ossoff's money is coming from individual donors from outside the state and Handel's are coming from PACs. LINK

According to NYT...
This is now the most expensive House race in history.
Ossoff raised $23M, with 95% coming from outside the state of GA. Most donations from CA, NY, and MA.
Handel raised $4M.

Ossoff will win, and I'll be as happy as a rat in the rafters when it happens!
Rush and all the right wingers on the radio have been saying since the initial election a couple months ago that Ossoff will lose the general. I never believed it, and will be jubilant when that smug smirk is off their faces.
And besides, Ossoff is a different sort of Democrat who supports positions embraced by conservatives!

It will be a 51-49 race either way. If ossoff wins, they're are going to start grooming him to run for president. A good looking lib that can win in the south would be very appealing to the Dems

It's crazy to see right wingers write this one off already. The night of the first election I remember a nearly unanimous cry from this board that the Republican will win easily if it goes to a runoff.
This has been a deep red district for a long time and is a huge deal if it goes blue. No way to honestly minimize it. Price won by huge margins every time he ran.
