If the Obama administration intercepted inoccuous communications and retained them despite no intelligence value, does it become direct surveillance?

was he wiretapped by Obama? in the literal sense, no.

was Trump right all along about being under surveillance? yes

This hasn't played all the way out.

Remember Judge Napolitano said the Brits did it, and provided the info to Obama. So BHO isn't quite off the hook yet. All thats left is the connection from the foreign intel group to ole Barry. Sounds like Trump must have that link

This is incorrect.

Trump, his campaign team and members of his administration were not surveilled.

Trump, his campaign team and members of his administration were talking to people in foreign countries and foreign agents that were being surveilled.

This is actually a nightmare for Trump. Someone presented probable cause to a judge, and a judge agreed that these people were a threat to the United States...and Trump associates were in contact with them.

Anyone who took "wiretapping" literally is just plain dumb. I doubt Trump campaign officials were using old fashioned rotary phones with wires.

Only thing I took from Trump's tweet is that he thought Obama ordered it. That has yet to be proven.

And there was no intelligence value and it wasn't related to Russia.

So retaining those records is illegal surveillance and unmasking their identities is against the law, and Obama wrote an EO to spread this illegal surveillance all over Washington.

This is starting to come together.

If Trump has been under "investigation " since last summer it's a high chance he was tapped. It's not like the Feds will investigate nor put anyone under surveillance without them being eased dropped on.

Unrelated to Russia?

Come on man, if you're going to spout the party line make sure it's up to date.

Something libs due when they are quote in the NYT.

Something people should do when a reasonable centrist sitting US Congressman quotes them.

You cannot perform surveillance on one party to a conversation (unless you hear and see only one side).

And it really doesn't matter if it was intentional or not.

Of course it matters.

It may not matter for some particular argument for/against Trump, but it obviously matters in the grand scheme.
