Well, it's a discretionary determination made by those bureaucrats in control of the applicable governmental agency dispensing hand outs. There is no prescriptive basis other than to diminish the historical power of "whites" in this country.

Hence the seemingly contradictory status of Asians. Affirmative Action was initially instituted as a means of helping Blacks in this country, who were viewed as facing a very particular set of historical disadvantages. It was never meant to be applied to women (as women), Latinos, Asians, etc.

However, when it began to be wielded as a sword by bureaucrats, it became useful to include every "minority" under the sun. The problem was that certain minorities became successful despite the supposed prevailing racism they faced. That's when Asians could not be considered a minority anymore for purposes of certain things like college admissions.

I look forward to the day when this whole fricking country is fricking mixed up brown, mocha people so I don't have to listen to shite like this any more.

Four percent is quite a lot, actually. That's 1 in 25. So if a show has 25 characters, odds are pretty good one of them will be gay. Odds are also pretty good that several shows have TWO gay people. And they might even hook up. Imagine that!

This thread has certainly come along way from TJGator's weak troll attempt . . . however, a few observations of things:

No man, of any race, likes really dark skin; pure sub-saharans women are simply not desirable.

Black men miscegenate more than other races and cry racism when someone points out the disproportionate ratio.

Black woman/White man couples exist, and it's a big deal . . . they almost never work out in the long run.

No one can agree on what "POC" means.

Black posters and many white liberals seem surprised at "racism" even though it is merely human nature (and perhaps some Freudian aggression) to perceive white women with a male of another race as unsettling (Lesson for all: You cannot regulate human nature, only curb its effects)
