They think they will be praised for being so open minded and progressive and diverse.
I work in marketing and advertising. That's exactly how it works. It's literally forced in there, I see it every day at work. It's like each ad/promotion must have a certain "diversity" quota to hit.

An actor friend told me that the SAG union has essentially capitulated to the demands of black actors so that there is a totally disproportionate affirmative action quota requiring face-time for black actors. Also, I imagine it is the statist mentality which merely wants diversity at any cost.
