Said he turned his back on the working class

I know I edited it because it was wrong

Shumer has doubled down the Democratic position They are going to lose this fight, if they consistently attack Trump without wanting to at least want to work with the President.

I honestly think they do not believe half the stuff they spout.

This exemplifies how out of touch the upper echelons of the DNC are with their working-class base. Trump not only won by appealing to traditionally Democrat voters in traditionally Democrat middle-America states, but tonight's speech was a more polished and more detailed version of the exact same platform and talking points that won those states out from under the DNC's feet.

One of the problems with this board. You define comments made by some comedian (Shumer, Silverman, etc) as THE voice of the left. It would be the same if I named Cat Scratch Fever or Alex Jones as THE voice of the right.

Schumer is a joke, but he is no comedian. He speaks for the left as much as anyone

One of the problems with the modern Democratic party. You cant figure out if comments are made by some comedian like Silverman, and one of the largest voices in the party, like Shumer.

Chuck Schumer is the Senate Minority LEADER. He is one of THE voices, if not THE voice, of the Left. SMH

The Senate minority leader's voice should be marginalized?

I know it was a shiny troll hook, but my gosh what a ridiculous comment.

I've posted this numerous times, but it seems that it's a recurring topic on the Poli Board. Definitely worth a look and addresses the topic directly, IMHO.

You are being very kind. I honestly believe they do and that is part of the root of the problem. They have swallowed their own fever swamp propaganda and have mistaken it for reality.

Wait? What? Did you even check the link? It was of the Zinke nomination and Chuck Shumer was speaking how he will oppose it and then went on a tirade at times about Trump.

I can only guess that you're either ignorant of who Chuck Shumer is or are so politically biased as to actually believe that you had a point with that statement.

If the latter, there's nothing anyone can do for you.

If the former, allow me to elucidate...

Chuck Shumer first entered into the political arena in 1975 where he spent 5 years serving in the New York State Assembly. From there he went directly to the US House of Representatives as the Representative for New York's 45th District where he served 18 uninterrupted years.

In 1999 he moved from the House to the Senate and has been there ever since. During his 36 years in DC he's been the Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (2005-2009), Chair of the Senate Rules Committee (2009-2015), Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus (2007-2017), Chair of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee (2011-2017) and is currently the Senate Minority Leader.

If he's not "THE voice of the left", then no one is.
