I support this. It should come directly out of the drug pricing too

Of course you, a Democratic Socialist would support banning things.

I prefer to make people smarter, than to cancel and ban.

I would say that advertising unproven drugs are bad. Yea, I would venture to say that.

And the minute we allow government to control what people can say, see, or hear, we have an issue. How much money do you think Pfizer got from FedGov in 2020 and 2021?

Republicans masquerading as conservatives

Conservatives try to also conserve a society based on the moral virtues of Christianity.

They do not try to conserve a state of lawlessness, as you and Roger, and SFP do.

In this way the word Republican is synonymous with Conservative.
I do believe that debates with Libertarians should always take place, and that Libertarians will and should win some of the debates. This will keep Republicans from overly codifying Moral Laws like the Arab States do.

Years ago, when pharma ads were starting to get really annoying, I looked up the reason pharma wasn't allowed to advertise in TV. I can't remember the exact wording but it was along the lines of keeping them from having undue influence, probably on the consumer. Having trouble finding that info using Brave's search.. it's pretty hit and miss.
But since most countries still ban it I'm thinking there's probably a good reason.
And since the ban was lifted when the globalists and corrupticrats were really getting their claws sunk into our government, that also makes me think the ban was a good thing.
And really, after the last few years, if anyone can't see the influence those ad dollars gives them, even without watching that video, they're willfully blind to it.

The current tactic is to give the public buzzwords they can then tell their doctor to trigger a script.

Medical industrial complex is a massive scheme to push drugs and entrap the public in an endless cycle of false addiction at the expense of good health.

Good for you. Now show me where I expressed a view on this particular issue one way or another.

I was responding to you broad statement about conservatives (lumping all of them together) and liking big government.

Why?

Companies in bed with global NGOs, COVID scandals, government agency collusion, questionable at best business practices, recent lawsuit results, corruption... etc.

Do you have faith in yourself?

If so, you don't need Daddy govt to protect you from your own choices.

I like the final seconds of each drug commercial when they rapidly list the mandatory warnings:
"Possible side effects could include headaches, fatigue, dizziness, or sudden death."

I am also against regs, but there is no way a patient should be going into a doctor to request a medicine. The doc should prescribe the best medicine etc. for the situation. They shouldn't get kickbacks from pharma for how many people they put on a med either.

Don't forget probably 2/3 of them cause the very condition for which it would be prescribed.

I am not sure if this is sarcasm, so I am not sure how to respond.

Why would it be sarcasm?

People can't get pharmaceuticals—no matter how widely they are advertised—without a physician's cooperation.

I agree that it creates the potential for patients to act irresponsibly, but his point is that they can't do so without a doctor also acting irresponsibly. There's a gatekeeper in the equation.

I agree with him.

But that's not really surprising around here. Roger is still a conservative (as am I) while the vast majority of the board has become populists.

No one said that freedom didn't have consequences. The difference between us conservatives and y'all populists is that we deem the negative consequences worth the trouble.
