Is that 3 tier tax plan that was published during the general election really what Trump is going to run with?

Because I get fricked by that plan - its complete bullshite that my rate would rise while people pulling in $5 million will get huge breaks

Why jump in bed and give Trump a legislative win with midterms next year? That's a cynical approach though.

If 90% of people in your district want infrastructure, how would it look if you voted against it?

The better strategy is to go along with it, then campaign against GOP on the idea that it doens't go far enough.

Whoa a Republican wants more spending and less taxes, my mind is blown! Trump is really breaking the mold here.

I guess it depends on the district. The Dem base is pretty motivated right now, and it's largely motivated on opposing anything and everything Trump wants. Trump and the GOP would likely have to concede a LOT of ground on tax reform to get it through.

Just the way I read it right now. It's probably a smart move though, otherwise his tax reform is going nowhere.

Plus, politically speaking I think the Dems see a wounded animal with the congressional GOP and Trump after last week's health care failure. Why jump in bed and give Trump a legislative win with midterms next year? That's a cynical approach though.

Because it may be 30 years before you get a shot at an infrastructure bill. You almost have to have a Republican President to pull it off. Generally Republicans won't go along with infrastructure but for tax reform absolutely. Basically the sky has aligned and it's the reason the Black Caucus was therelast week.

Look at his sundowning tweets tonight - no Democrat will work with him on infrastructure - especially when his bill amounts to corporate hand-outs, and not increased spending.

He's insane.

Yeah, he's politically weak. Hard to see dems throwing him a lifeline here. Maybe if he wasnt such a colossal douche.

After the healthcare debacle, it's about time he pivots to infrastructure and tax reform. This way Trump can engage Democrats and cement his legacy as a public minded president.

Good pivot. Wall funding will be in infrastructure no doubt in my mind though. And the fight will be on for the narrative.

Trump with democrats don't spend on infrastructure.

Democrats with we would if you'd spend it on projects that would help citizens.

And on and on till arguing some very nuanced philosophical view of the situation.

Why wouldn't the HFC support his infrastructure bill? Unless the money's not actually going to infrastructure (see Obama's stimulus), Insee no reason why they would obstruct that. Infrastructure is an enumerated power, and typically hrings a positive roi.

Didn't happen during Dumbya's tax cuts for the wealthy. They sat on their extra cash and/or invested it overseas.
