THIS is where we get to the "nobody wants the job" situation.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the SOH is instrumental in committee appointments and chairs, correct?

And KM being removed doesn't vacate the prior appointments, correct?

And part of the deal between Gaetz and his crew was over-representation on committees and chairs, right?

If these are all true, I can 100% understand why Gaetz wants gridlock in electing the new SOH

He already lost, right?

I would be shocked if the majority bucked to the minority again.

They have to find someone that is universally appealing throughout the party. I know who would bring back the badly-needed unity and decorum we need, is rested, tan, ready and a svelte 210 lbs:

And THIS is why Bob Livingston’s name came up the other night… just because he has the votes doesn’t mean he gets the job.

Fantastic. No more McCarthy-lite types needed.

He lost, but it wasn't by much. I think it was really only between him and Scalise, so if Scalise drops out and there is no one else running I would think he gets it be default.

I read that KM's "crew" vowed to not vote for Jordan, so Scalise got the nomination to bring everyone together. Looks like Jordan's (or Gaetz's) crew won't vote for Scalise (I don't blame them).

I am all for shaking things up, I don't care if this drags out 6 months. The elite-trending politicians in DC need to re-engage with their party, and their party right now is maga-leaning.

But it's a hollow "victory" as the committee can't do anything while there is no speaker.

Is that why only 8 voted to oust KM and they've flexed only about 20 at max strength?

In what world is THAT the majority?

How many times did a Gang Of 4 / 6 / 8 / whatever dictate policy for the entire Senate?

When you have a slim majority, individual members have more power.
