Yeah, how many diseases can you think of that can be completely cured with solitary confinement, and bread and water?
None, and neither can addiction.

I disagree. And addiction isn't treated as a crime. The crimes addicts commit are treated as crime. Nobody has ever been convicted of being addicted to anything.

While this is often true, possession is itself a crime. Possession should not be a crime. Robbery is a crime. Tax evasion should is a crime (although, a National Sales Tax would make tax evasion a lot harder). Murder is a crime. Penalizing possession in order to jail addicts who are also criminals seems unnecessary.

Addicted or not, they should find anyone that molested a child hanging from an oak tree limb.

On this we agree.

The medium article is from 2015, and it was a dead Salon link. It seems that this is the same link that got so much universal condemnation, discussed here multiple times, a while back that they retracted it in its entirety.

I don't care if marijuana is legalized, but I know based on past experiences that it won't stop there, some will push to legalize heroin as well, etc etc.
It should all be legal. Why should the government regulate what you put in your own body? I hate legislation of morals.

Just don't ask the taxpayers for money to treat the addicted and I'd be fine with making them all legal.

they don't care about that, they only care about fueling the outrage machine and building up the caricature of the enemy they hate but don't know.

Sounds like a summary of the last Democratic National Convention.

Legal or not, acceptable behavior or not (I believe neither will ever happen in America). If a pedo preys on one of my children or future grandchildren, they will catch a few .45 hollow points in the face if I’m given the slightest opportunity to do so.

And who's on the hook for taking care of the children of all these new legal addicts?
Posted on 10/9/17 at 5:38 pm to troyt37
The grandparents? A sibling. A godparent.
It's a good question for sure.

I don't think legalizing all drugs would create a ton more addicts. Are you all of a sudden going to do heroine because it's legal?
It's really not that hard in any city to get hard core illegal drugs.

Probably not, but does that somehow help the kids of the 10's or even 100's of thousands of who would?
People want to act like legalization would only affect those who choose to do the drugs. It just isn't true, as many legalization advocates are quick to point out about alcohol.
Knowing the wake of destruction alcohol leaves, why in the world would legalizing heroin, meth, coke and the like ever seem like a good idea?

Some big black bull needs to introduce this shitstain to the joys of prison rape. Where are the Hells Angels when you need them?

bet they'll say look at pedophilia throughout history as a way to try and normalize it
homosexuality, pedophilia, and other sexual taboo's often operated together in ancient civilizations. it was considered normal...

Ahhhh...., Seems like it was just yesterday when I said the pedos would be the next misunderstood and oppressed segment of society that wants social justice. After they get their justice the Progs can help the beasties out.
Well similarly I expressed that next would be "goats" (after tansdenderimm took hold). Sadly you may be right, but goats are still on the horizon.
goats as in "acceptance as marriage partner".
