At least we have the right to voice our displeasure and have freedom of choice. Thank god we are not a brain washed population like the Russians are.

You think that is what Obama had on his mind when he told the Russian diplomat that after the election he would have more freedom to carry out his plan. What was his plan? Was he planning on using the EPA and Homeland Security to continue the economic squeeae on America?

Back to the topic of Putin and war..
Putin and Russia as a whole has been undermining the US in Latin America for a long time, and that's really a untold story here in the US.
I remember a thread about a guy named Golitsyn. The name is known. He told the US this would happen. Yesterday, you saw the "fruit" of their work. All pun intended.
Here is a far leftist, anti American article.. but proves the point... written a month ago:

It asks who would you want as your friend.

The country that bombs into oblivion whoever gets in its way – like #Afghanistan, #Iraq, #Serbia, #Libya, #Vietnam, #Korea, #Japan (with nukes); the country that spies on its friends, such as the newest in a barrage of NSA/CIA scandals of the US spying on Germany; the country that manipulates the whole world into submission with sanctions and threats?
OR
quote:
The country that comes in peace and helps develop infrastructure, trade and mutually beneficial relations; the country that doesn’t start wars and works tirelessly to preserve peace for all, despite desperate attempts of some to start WWIII?
The answer should be clear even for the brainwashed, zombified and intimidated population of the West… I think it was always clear for Cubans.

Russia will write off 90% of Cuban debt

Vladimir Putin will visit #Argentina where he’ll sign energy-related and trade expansion deals. Next is #Brazil, where he’ll watch the World Cup final, participate in the #BRICSbank creation, and discuss the information and security deals between Russia and Brazil with President Dilma #Rousseff
quote:
n Brazil, Putin will also meet with a number of other Latin American heads of state to discuss various energy and investment deals.
quote:
Putin just announced that Russia would be investing $150bln in the ambitious construction of the new leg of the Baikal-Amur Railroad (BAM), taking this money off the table for US Treasury investment.
quote:
Russia just signed a deal with #Austria regarding the #SouthStream gas pipeline construction. #Hungary and #Italy reconfirmed their commitment to South Stream. Russian FM #Lavrov just met with his counterpart in #Slovenia to sign the South Stream deal. The neighboring #Serbia has already signed the 2.1 bln euro deal for building South Stream on its territory.
quote:
Vladimir Putin’s trip to Latin America is very meaningful. He will meet with different leaders to discuss bilateral trade outside of the dollar system; creation and financing of the BRICS Bank to be juxtaposed to the rotten #IMF and World Bank system; energy and security projects; oil and gas field development.
Newest info: After Cuba, Putin made a surprise stop in Nicaragua. After that, he stopped in Buenos Aires, where he signed a number of energy and trade deals with President of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner. Argentina is very interested in increasing trade with Russia, which right now is only about $2bln. Incidentally, Russia Today (RT) office broadcasting in Spanish for Latin America will be located in Buenos Aires.

The European Union also stand to lose because food and farming is its fourth biggest export industry.
Some 10% of EU food exports -- worth €12 billion -- were delivered to Russia last year, making it Europe's second biggest customer.
In the long run that only hurts the Russian people
No it does not. Not at all. This guy had a plan, and that plan is to go outside the norms and develop new sources and friends to take up the slack. It's a done deal.

Last sentence of the OP.
Pretty sure they are talking about ExxonMobil here.

Russia does not want to go to war with the United States. If this continues to brew it will likely result in another Cold War fought by proxy in other countries by other countries. Russia could not currently step onto the same conventional battlefield with the U.S. That could change eventually but not at present. I also would not want to invade Russia as that has not ever worked out well for anyone know matter how superior ther military.

I cannot argue with that statement but it is a bit of a cop out. Congress was just as guilty as W. I also think that if we are going to cast stones you can say that U.S. foreign policy and reliance on foreign oil imports is the reason we have any problems at all in the Middle East. Should we blame ourselves for that as well?

You are really clueless. You and your conspiracy self would fit right in modern day Russia.
This does hurt the Russian people b/c it raises the price of simple foods bc they cut off their main import. Since they really don't produce much of their own shite and they wont buy from their own back yard in the EU. They now have to look at South America and Africa. Well there is this little thing called logistics. The price of shipping goods from South America and Africa is higher than from the EU. Thus raising the price of the actual good the people need. The people are already poor depending on gov't pensions so yes it hurts the people.

Well the population of actual Russians is actually decreasing.
So to combat this Putin opened their borders to people who live in any ex Soviet state. So the false belief some have that he protect his borders is laughable.
